Rangiora Trots V Tauranga Gallops

Recommended Posts

Never bother looking at the Thoroughbred racing but Tauranga caught my eye on the TAB site as I moved to see the Rangiora fields.

It has only 7 races, and then, with a further look the fields are tiny and Tauherenikau is not much better. Who would bet into that type of racing and who would attend? Like the trots on the grass up north in recent weeks, who wants to see 6, 7 or 8 horse on a massive galloping track? So is North Island racing screwed in general?

A punter could not help but be drawn to Rangiora with its full fields and the odds on offer and there isn't even the need for an amateur race ?

Methven with its inclusive programming will offer another great days racing on Sunday. Without question, harness in the South Island is better placed than anything else in the country. Gallops might as well close up shop and go buy a few sulkies...

Perhaps we need to ask where is the Minister of Racing, the dishonourable Winston Peters? He was going to sort out racing and get it back to its glory days. To date he has done zilch, lot of talk but nothing else. It seems Peters enjoys getting handouts from  the big business involved with racing but he is not interested in the grassroots of the sport. He is out for what he can get, Winston lining his own pockets at racings expense. Corrupt crook!

A career politician who is only out for himself in whatever he turns his attention to.

He couldn't fix his own shoelace let alone racing.

Winston is at Waitangi this week for the vote for this years election.

Isnt he a man of his word?

Reduced immigration? Yeah right?

Very open and transparent

Thats right he brought in the Gold Card what an achievement and can’t win his own seat but holds the country to ransom, what a great system MMP is!

They say 5% of a population are fools. Beautifully designed for Peters.

Happy, I would say it would be higher than that when you include the Labour and Green voters.
