Guest CrossCodes Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) I had a bet on this race and tuned in a few minutes before the race and heard them talking about Valley Star and got very confused. The horse was scratched according to the TAB website and no dividend (Obviously) was on the screen. The race was run and won by this horse despite the fact you couldn’t actually place a bet on it, or include it in any multiple bets. This is a screenshot of the tab website during the running of the race..... note no Valley Star. Is this not just blatant fraud? Edited March 5, 2020 by CrossCodes Quote
Brodie Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Saw that as well! Was showing as scratched in my iPad, but on Trackside it was a starter and was showing the divs! Just an absolute shocker and what should the TAB do about it, as you couldn’t back it at all! Quote

Didn't some office lady get blamed a few years ago for a muck up similar to this? I can't remember exactly. Quote

The TAB have taken bets on in the few minutes prior to the race (maybe longer) without the favourite in the market. So anyone who had taken bets thinking this horse wasn’t in the race (which going by the TAB website it wasn’t) just have to take the loss? If someone took this to the commerce commission they would win hands down. Quote

Rusty Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Bets placed during the time that the horse was shown to be scratched, should be refunded. They won't be. But they should be. Do the right thing NZ TAB and cop it on the chin. Quote
