Brodie
Very interesting news release today by HRNZ stating that they have been advised by AllStars Stable that 9 of their horses may have suffered some sort of contamination on the way up to Cambridge for this weeks jewels! Betting on these races have had the fixed odds betting suspended! The horses that have been named are being swabbed, so this is could be very interesting if there is contamination.

Happy Sunrise
Incredible. A field day comes to mind. Hope all those who slag the Dunns and Dalgetys et al treat this the same way but hell will freeze over I imagine. The Stewards have been advised by the Trainers M Purdon and N Rasmussen that the following horses may have been exposed to a possible contamination during their transportation to Cambridge for the Harness Jewels. So many questions to answer! What if they are all scratched! What a disaster that would be.

Dunns & Dalgety, only comes up after tests come back positive. So hardly same. Purdons got a lot to lose here, could be several scratchings for big day, good on them for bringing it to hrnz, BEFORE RACING!! Certainly makes a change

Who transported them? Were other stable's horses exposed or was it just an All-Star ride? How exciting.

Happy Sunrise
From their website. What a load of mumbo-jumbo. Anyone facing a positive turns up the bullshit in response. A complication involving the oversight of some horses on their float trip from Auckland to Hamilton which might result in a possibility of contamination of any tests likely to be conducted on All Stars horses at the Harness Jewels, has been quickly publicly confronted by All Stars stables. The contamination would have involved human contact with nine All Stars horses during their travels and the remote possibility it could lead to irregular results in testing procedures. Natalie and Mark have moved to cover this possibility, however remote. "We have advised the appropriate bodies of the possibility and all our horses will be urine tested on Thursday. We are not expecting any adverse outcome from those but we just want to be sure and keep everything out in the open" Natalie said. "The incident goes back several days but we want to be absolutely sure there is no possibility of our horses being compromised as a result. We are not expecting withdrawals from any of the races. We are just taking every precaution"

Richie
From what i have heard All Stars staff have all been drug tested and positive has been confirmed. I think we will find that horses will be ok but better to be sure now than sorry after.

Flash
If the first 3 horses or dogs were tested every race & every meeting every time, surely that would prevent drug use on the animals, despite the cost involved for the RIU, would it give the punting public some confidence (and the breeding industry) ? Test before paying out the stakes money ! The Purdon stable earnt $20 million in stakes money the past 5 years.
globederby12
Well we have all just been told that smoking P in a house poses no health problems , so it would follow that a couple of dimwits smoking pot in a trailer transporting horses would not impact on the horses. Wouldn't it???
Guest CrossCodes
Sounds like a very professional response to an issue and they have been very open and honest about it.....very refreshing, but they are a very professional stable so I wouldn't expect anything less. id imagine if it was a member of their staff who caused the drama they might Ben headed to the dole queue very soon. What is it about stable staff and drug use?

Brodie
It is very interesting indeed. If stable employs were tested for some sort of drugs and tested positive then possibly this drug taking is also been done around the stable as well, when the bosses are away? Maybe this is why the AllStars horses never go as well when the bosses are not in Christchurch? Perhaps the horses that race are fonged up????? 2
