Rangatira
ARCHMAN - broke in the score up losing all chance. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Driver K Newman had an opportunity to review the score up in relation to whether his horse had been denied a fair start when being crowded in the score up. After reviewing the replays Stewards acting under Rule 213(1)(j) deemed the horse a non-runner. Stewards spoke with Starter P Lamb regarding this incident. Mr Lamb explained that in his opinion the horse had not suffered sufficient interference to warrant calling a False Start and so allowed the start. so that is it ?
Noodlum
So sufficient interference to warrant a late scratching but not enough to warrant a False Start. No doubt there are NO guidelines what determines either!

No doubt there are NO guidelines what determines either! Well it looked quite simple. Archman suffered interference which caused it to break, and Lamb got it wrong by not calling a false start.
