Rangatira Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 ARCHMAN - broke in the score up losing all chance. Authorisation of placings was withheld until Driver K Newman had an opportunity to review the score up in relation to whether his horse had been denied a fair start when being crowded in the score up. After reviewing the replays Stewards acting under Rule 213(1)(j) deemed the horse a non-runner. Stewards spoke with Starter P Lamb regarding this incident. Mr Lamb explained that in his opinion the horse had not suffered sufficient interference to warrant calling a False Start and so allowed the start. so that is it ? 1 Quote
Noodlum Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 So sufficient interference to warrant a late scratching but not enough to warrant a False Start. No doubt there are NO guidelines what determines either! Quote
Rangatira Posted March 21, 2021 Author Posted March 21, 2021 i wonder what that cost the industry in turnover ? Quote

Archman suffered interference which caused it to break, and Lamb got it wrong by not calling a false start. 1 Quote
