Was thinking, pending if we get enough donations, that we could add 1 more comp to it.

Like a comp pick a winner or similar but be run separate to the original comp.

Where only people that make selections are in it, and the win must be spent on a bet on 2nd to last or last race of day, so winner advises Chief what horse to put $ on. That way we are putting into/contributing to the turnover for the day. But the other prize REMAINS as a CASH prize to winner.

Perhaps we should do one, for those put money in. As incentive to get more people put more money into pot. Use the three already comps, just have money comp. Then whoever wins the comp with money in. Gets whoever is in the pot, goes on second last jewels race.

Hey Gospel,

Tots open to ideas. Just want a fun comp with a prize, that peeps participate in.

Perhaps we could do it how you suggest. Just didn’t want those that put in to feel like the winner was taking their money lol. Hence put it as a small donation & said the pot could go to anyone, including those that didn’t contribute as the winner.

So far think we have $50 which is you, me, Chief + 2 others, + think we will be getting $30 from anonymous dona which makes $80 if that is correct.

Which would make 5 peeps playing for $80 so far. Be great to get to $100, so to do that just need 2 more peeps to donate & join. Am unaware of the names of other posters included - guess if 1 of them, doesn’t want to make selections then someone else could be nom-ed on their behalf to do so, but IF they win, the pot goes to that $ dona. Haha maybe that is what I might do, get someone else to make selections for me. That would include more peeps. So like we have a horse and a driver, a team of 2. Gamms could be my horse & Ill be the driver ready with my stick out incase he’s not winning ready to give him a crack hahahaha. But of course if you want to put selections in yourself too that is fine. Or the team of 2 could split selections, make 1/2 each. Options, options.  

Pre-bonus points:

Gamms already has 2 points

Taupiri has 2 points

Big Bang has 1 point

Which could be separated to go towards 1 of the other comps.

Do a selections comp, that anyone can participate in, however if you donated $10 then you start off the front tapes (3 points in advance) & everyone else competing starts of 10m behind on 0 points. If we do something like select 1 horse per race from race 1 thru to race 7. 3 points for a win, 2 for a 2nd & 1 for a 3rd. That way those that donated get an edge over the rest. But EVERYONE can enter.

Then the other comp can be for fun & pre-points can go to that. 

In other Jewels news, thought HRNZ might of reported this, but they have not yet, so Its All About Faith has been withdrawn, still no word about Stylish M not in training & Karrots has spied, Boys Get Paid reserved area space has moved from being level 1 right-hand side to ground floor right-hand side. VIP's have taken that space level 1 right-hand-side space. Wonder who the VIP's are ... Great idea tho re VIP area only. This is different to the owners/trainers area which also seems to have an allocated area level 1 left-hand side. The plot thickens.

Fitzy, didn't hear from you, so have sorted my mate out now & Chief could you pls reply to my latest PM. With trying to organise this comp, need info.

To be fair what should do, have one for paying people. Have another one for non payers. Then everyones gets a choice on what one want go in.

Is that true?  Has the rule been passed?  

The so called "Code of Conduct" rules don't come into effect until 1 July.  In any event the way they are currently written are at odds with laws that take precedence.

Quite frankly I wouldn't worry about it.  In terms of my position as owner and moderator of BOAY as I have said many times before it would take a Court Order to attempt to identify any poster on BOAY.  

I would also personally defend that position and fight any legal action to identify individuals.

Well The Lad won, Looee losing his 12th spot & is out of the Jewels, now relies on an unlikely withdrawal to gain a start BUT you never know. Thought Newman drove horse positively, not much else he could of done. Hard when up against Nat. Yip she is a STAR.

What a test that was in open class race at Alex. Ferguson had ever right to maintain the LEAD, after being INSTRUCTED to lead by connections. And the connections of Copy That can't expect that EVERY horse, EVERY race will just hand the lead up. There was no team driving in the race & it was not a group race. The result a win to the Dream & a 2nd to Copy That. 

Moving forward to the Jewels, now it is clear Copy That can be vulnerable. So park him & you have every chance to beat him any of those others, Kango, Bad to the Bone, South Coast Arden, Pembrooke Playboy. Draw is sooooo crucial.

Will update the 2 y-os for everyone with a runner next week.

Well I have to say that reading comments elsewhere where they are insinuating Ferguson was possibly cheating, is just rubbish & has motivated me to post that I concur with Tasman Man. Don’t like to put peeps down and everyone makes mistakes, BUT I too viewed it more as a driver error on Copy That.

E.g had Nat been on I strongly suspect this would of happened. She goes for lead, lead not there, so she immediately pulls back sits parked - oppose pushing onto lead borderline Kamikazi styles. Home straight, from parked position, she would push Copy That past Steel the Show, A Dream would be 3 back running line coming potentially 4 wide and Copy That just potential holds off the challenge to win.

At Camb come Jewels a lot harder to push passed a horse of similar ability over a mile, with those Camb corners & short straight. But last nite was possible had the above scenario taken place. Not having any of this cheating rubbish talk in that race. Heck Copy That stable had 1/2 the field in the race too.

You are more than welcome to join us & steal ALL our $ tho from the posters on here with the Jewels comp selections game, just click on subscriptions and its under Karrots Jewels comp. You just need to put in $10. Then once the fields are out. Select 1 horse per race, points allocated 3 win, 2 second, 1 third.

Top points winner gets a bet however they chose on the last or 2nd last race. And gets all the returns should their bet come in.

As being lots of Group 1’s run on Jewels day. So Jonesy/Karrots take the final pre-bonus points 😁

On a side note 2 different people now have commenting/asking how many Group 1’s when Jewels convo come up. I might add this person was blown away by fact ALL 9 races were Group 1’s. They were like when I said "ALL races are Group 1", they were like, "what is there only 4 races on the day or something?".

A def marketing angle, that may poss not be being pushed enough when selling the day to audience … not sure?

Auckland based, with lil horse knowledge. They were like “this sounds fantastic, why have I not heard of this event. Im quite active on social media/facebook & I have not heard of this”. 

I pointed out “well they are advertising on their Facebook page under Camb raceway”. Which then lead to me showing them the fun video of horse running straight past the buckets, which they enjoyed, but funnily enough they were like "too much talking" at beginning & wanted to go straight to the funny bit. I, on the other hand as a harness racing enthusiast didn’t mind the talking. Its funny different peoples perspectives on things. Then they were like, "right we are going to this, might even have to get a group together"!
