Seems to have got the hang of it now 😀

What it shows is you need to be on the speed, sitting at the back of fields 95% of the time is pointless... more importantly 2 well judged drives well done Kaleb.

He's driving Mason again Monday, not sure why, no discount for a junior and Matty or Brad don't have drives.

Just as I thought ZERO consistency!

Miss Tomlinson said that her horse required a solid even pace throughout and was still travelling comfortably until being checked out of the race

Is she just taking the piss out of the stipes! Every man and his dog could see the horse was rooted at that stage and was going to run last by a wide margin.

I agree it highlights an inconsistency in their rulings, but i believe the decision made by yesterdays stipes was the correct one.

Tomlinsons drive yesterday may have been rather aggressive, but she was attempting to drive to her horses strengths, and it just didn't work out. As i have said previously, surely that is better than watching drivers who show no aggression whatsoever tactically and don't give their horses a chance. Black ops, like dreaminsover have similar styles of racing, and require similar racing patterns to get their best results.

So yesterday the stipes said its ok to drive to your horses strengths, but we will question you if the public may form the impression you over did it. Thats how it should work.

Which public?  Joe Punter?  Joe "expert" Armchair driver?

The rules should be more black and white.

no idea what you are on about(as is often the case).

But would you rather have a tomlinson or negus type drive,or say an A drake drive on ardens horizon at auckland in race 3 run earlier tonight.Tomlinson and negus gave their horse a chance whereas A Drake seemed to have no idea of pace and gave his horse no chance whatsoever when equal favorite.

Reality is both type of drives are ok. All drivers were trying, just  an A Drake type drive shows far less judgment than the other 2 being discussed.

Thing is too, the Stripes in NZ are abit like A Drake drive. Don't show much judgement, can't read a race and don't  know what pace is.

When asked to comment on the improved performance, trainer/driver S Boyd advised the horse had shown natural improvement in recent weeks and he was not surprised by the gelding's performance today.

I like it. You can say the horse showed natural improvement now and the stipes lap it up. Great thinking S Boyd. Attention all drivers I think we are on to a winner here. Just use this one if you are stuck for an excuse. Very hard to prove otherwise. Brilliant!

What was he to say?I had him rated on top,so he really just ran up to his form.

The stipes are just trying to maintain transparency, but sometimes because a horses form doesn't look that good on paper,it just  means things haven't gone their way in more recent races ,the strength of fields vary, and some improve a bit after a let up.So in this case Boyds answer was fair enough i thought.
