May is still one of our best drivers, yet for unknown reasons has no nz cup drive. If you look at who's driving in the event ,there are 3 or 4 totally out of form drivers who you couldn't back even on a favorite. Yet a 7 time cup winning driver has no drive?

Have to go back to Kyms Girls Cup when that last happened

Are there still rules around who can drive in Premier races like the Cup?

All i know is that in regards to any one. You can't drive at Premier meetings until you have driven 15 winners. Am pretty sure that is correct, but no doubt i'll be corrected if that's not the case.

It’s sad to see the way Ricky has been driving lately, seems to have no confidence and rarely puts his drives into the races, he seems happy just to be going around, but trainers seem content to keep giving him drives, a good choice if you aren’t actually out there to try.

His driving today at Ashburton has been abysmal.

i have been watching his driving today, and in my opinion hes driving as well as he normally does, which is very good.

apart from one drive which he drove perfectly and it showed nothing, the rest have been horses with not much chance no matter what run they got.So hes driven them conservatively. The horse he drives in the last would be his best chance on the day,and although not expected to win could place.

$4  a place for second in the last race. He still gets the best out of his drives.
