Too much ability to stop.Has to keep persevering for another few starts,Needs to be put on unruly, there is noway I would have started him from barrier 1 the other day no matter how well behaved he been at workouts and home..If you went on horses early careers we wouldn't have had Blossom Lady,Hands Down or Basil Dean as they were all a wee bit wayward first handful of starts and never gave any hint of becoming the champions they did.Not saying Beragio will be a champion but has gone some very nice sectionals at trials and in his raceday 2nd to Old Oake Emma

Richie, it is not April fools day is it?

Beragio has got nothing!

Where have these quick quarters been?

It has shown absolutely nothing on race day and when it is on the unruly it will continue to be nil.

Why they waste their time with an 8 year old pace with one place on the grass at Blenheim defies logic.

Even if it did win one on the grass at the coast at Christmas which is highly unlikely, it would’ve cost them a helluva lot more in training costs over the next few months!

Are they are after black print?

seriously though, Beragio got warned by the Stipes, FFS it is a shocker at every start so how on earth is it not UNRULY?

What does it have to do, bring down the whole field?

Someone who is not an intelligent punter!

Sorry, but the horse showed absolutely no gate speed from 1, when the pace went on it just galloped and galloped!

Look it may show something somewhere maybe the training track, but as a racing proposition NO!

What is your opinion Crosscodes?

I wouldn't back anything trained by Murray Edmonds I'm afraid, he struggles to get winners these days and I don't back losing trainers.

Im just please Clive won the last race today, the only winner I've picked all weekend and has bought a little bit of dignity back to my account (and I mean just a little!)

Well done Cross Codes

To be fair though it was a very easy day to make money on.

Do your homework!

Yes, he is in again Beragio!!!

Race 5 on Sunday at Rangiora drawn the second row from a STAND!

Murray Edmonds is down to drive him this time!

Imwish Murray all,the best in getting this horse away and keeping it lacing the whole race!

Why on earth is he allowed to race and why isn’t he UNRULY??????

Anyone prepared to give Brodie “evens” on whether Beragio Gallops in the Race????

Should be a TAB option!!!!

Not a bad day at the office for Beragio today at Rangiora.

It galloped at least 5 times during the running of its race!

This is pathetic that it is allowed to still be racing as it just doesn’t know how to pace!!!

FFS stand it down indefinitely and if the owners continue to want to pay to train it, then they must have rocks in their heads.

i didnt see the race, and he might break alot, but there are plenty that break a lot.  Who are you to say the owners have rocks in their heads, they are the ones paying to keep the hose going, and the industry needs all the owners it can possibly get.

for those that punt, they know fine well they are taking a huge risk. so it hardly affects them.

Yes of course the owners pay the bills and have the right to race the horse.

The fact is that Beragio would take the cake for being the pacer that has galloped in the most races early in its career.

Why on earth they persevere with it defies logic and yes there are probably slower horses but at least they know how to pace for a full race.

The horse should be stood down indefinitely until it knows how to pace .

maybe the horse should be stood down, i dont disagree. but i disagree with your comments about the owners.  to be an owner, you need to have quite a lot of money now, and money you dont expect to get back.

the same argument about why owners persist with this horse, could be applied to many other horses. at the end of the day however it is their perogative, and who is anyone to question why they persist, if anything, they should be applauded for carrying on, and hoping and trying.  i know from experience, being an owner in this game is very hard, and possibly they are the most hard done by.  stakes have been stagnant for years, decades, and you get almost no return.  without owners, there would be no horses to punt on, or no game to run.  they should be looked after much better.

MarkyMark, yes it does cost a lot of money to own and race a horse in NZ, and only a small percentage will end up on the positive side!

Don’t really think you could applaud them though for deciding to race Beragio, as it doesn’t know how to pace and it is an eight year old!!!

Why would they still bother, it galloped on at least 5 times yesterday at Rangiora and really the Stipes have been very lax in not standing the horse down and/or making it unruly.

Is there anyone in NZ that actually believes that Beragio will win a race in NZ the way it goes???

They would be better off paying out for a horse that knows how to pace and has a chance at winning a race.

i think its laces got tangled so best to ignore  the rangiora run and line up again i think it lacks a bit of racing ring craft and that is hard to get standing around at home

i see a horse called light in the night, or a name similar to this, won at addington a few weeks ago, aged 13.

the horse managed a second, might have been a weak field, but still managed  second, so yes, in the right race, with manners ofcourse it could win a race. that is without question.

but who are you to say or suggest what the owners should do, you do not pay their bills, so you have no right to criticize them

i think this post says alot about you. i am disagreeing with you, but you want to resort to name calling? are you 12?

quite pathetic. i just joined here to join discussions around racing, not everyone has to agree. i am a racing enthusiast, im sure like you, i use to help train, was an owner, and a punter, so i believe i have some knowledge and can add to intelligent discussion.

if the chief is not happy with me joining in he discussion then no worries, ill leave  but i thought thats what this site was for, for racing folk to engage, discuss and debate, am i wrong?
