Huey
Off the back of Doomed post regarding VE in the Apollo Stakes you've got to ask why they even bother? Here are some more classics for this weekend : Light Fingers Fangirl - Placed in Mdn company first up last campaign ( Last start won the $500k Carbine Club at Flemington ) Zouzarella - First up should find this a bit easier. (not sure how the Light Fingers can ever be considered easy) Apollo Stakes Cascadian - Meeting easier opposition here . (tell that to Kolding,Think It Over, VE , Ice Bath, Collette etc, where does it get harder?) Colette - Drops in Grade (Last start a G1 this one a G2 , quality of opposition easily make this a G1) VE - Handy galloper. Class drop helps. (LMAO) Triscay Stakes Vangelic - One for the Exotics (Last start 3rd in the Golden Eagle)

Chief Stipe
As I posted in another thread - Verry Elleegants form line in OZ reads as follows: The Australian Form line says this: Back after 14 week break. Placed at Randwick when last fresh and won one of seven first-up. Ran in two trials. Hard to beat.
Doomed
Every week those form guide comments are a laughing stock. Quite often the horse described as "rank outsider' will go out well favoured and almost win the race. It is basically all programmed based on the group rating of the race. When you see a horse coming out of a group 3 and about to race in a $2m sales series race it will usually mention "drops in class". Its an embarrassment really.
Doomed
The one that always gets me, that shows how stupid they are and how little they really care, is the way they always convert Aussie stakes to NZ dollars, so a $100,000 race always becomes $109,000. Interestingly though they always convert NZ stakes as well. So, for instance, Callsign Mav this weekend didn't race in a couple of $220,000 races at HB, he raced in a couple of $224,000 races. I'm not sure what currency he was racing for at HB? Chatham Islands dollars, monopoly money. Once again, a total inability to get the basics right. And how much did that computer cost? 1

This has so many parrallels with other aspects of the sport in NZ in that those who think they are saving a few dollars by having a Computer generate them or an absolute clueless person who writes them, not sure which but don't realise the impact it has on generating wagering interest or confidence and thus is detrimental to the industry. Another prime example is the radio, defies belief that one, you'll never convince me otherwise.

I've given up reading the form on the TAB NZ site. I always use Australian Racing derived form for NZ. The stupid thing is they get the data from NZ!!!! It is just the TAB NZ website and App that screws with it!!!! Now if you are using an Ozzie site to look a the form......what comes next? You are flooded with promotional odds from a number of OZ bookies and invariably you get a better deal!!! Duh!!!! Another irritating feature(?!) is the apprentice allowances on the TAB NZ site. If you go through a field once and click on a couple of horses to look at the form (which is a waste of time) you'll find that the apprentice allowances strangely disappear. Again you have to go back to the Aussie sites to confirm what you thought you saw the first time you looked!!!! Some of the idiot sycophants e.g. the @JJ Flash's of this world rabbit on about how good McKenzie was yet he didn't understand wagering and had a chance to pull the pin on the computer wagering systems pigs ear they bought for platinum prices!!!! What's more that they are still paying through the nose for yet can't afford the upgrades!!!

Huey
The gift that keeps on giving. The Chosen One - Freshened. Formerly with M Baker & A Forsman. Not likely. Coventina Bay - Went to line only fairly in the wet in weaker grade at Gold Coast last time out
