I think falls happen everywhere

I enquired of trainer Lance Robinson yesterday as to the wellbeing of his fallen runner, she seems ok so far, he said, just ran out of room. That, IMO, indicates a jockey issue. Someone clearly failed to steer. And that happens far too much. Edited June 12, 2022 by Freda 1

Sometimes the brakes or steering don't quite do what they are supposed to.
curious
THE MOTIVATOR (BB Hong) - Became awkwardly placed near heels passing the 900 metres and when being steadied shifted out clipping a heel blundering and unbalancing the rider, shifting outwards abruptly making firm contact with HIGHLAND FLING which was taken out onto SURCHARGE with HIGHLAND FLING clipping a heel and falling dislodging rider J Laking. HIGHLAND FLING (J Laking) - Crowded clipping a heel and falling dislodging its rider passing the 900 metres. Underwent a post-race veterinary inspection which did not reveal any obvious abnormality. One only has to watch a field coming around the home turn and up the straight to see how much lateral movement happens in races here , not just near the front but further back . There is a real lack of duty of care by jockeys here . You can often see the better jocks steering clear of the younger riders in particular , but this issue isn't confined to just the apps , or any particular part of NZ .

The horses have so many scans they are probably suffering from radiation sickness.

Clearly the current one is not too effective in picking up issues

Clearly the current one is not too effective in picking up issues Last year all international entrants were required to have a nuclear scintigraphy and a CT scan. All local entrants were also required to have a CT scan. There will always be horses going amiss. Always have been. The nature of the beast particularly when asked to so something it isn't really designed to do.
