Questions for Te Rapa and NZTR

Good Afternoon

I administer a relatively new Racing and Sports Forum called A Bit Of A Yarn - it can be found online at BitOfAYarn.com  (BOAY)

Before the Foxbridge Plate race meeting a number of contributors had raised concerns about the state of the track conditions at Te Rapa.  This contributor activity has increased substantially since and the level of concern has escalated.  Although this is reflected in online comments there is an increasing amount of private conversations occurring between contributors.  Only a few of which I have been copied in on.

Given the importance of Te Rapa to the Thoroughbred Racing Industry BOAY is reaching out to you for comment.  The questions that are being asked are:

  1. Has the recent deterioration of the track been the result of an incorrect application of sand to the surface?  Too much?  The wrong quality (micron size)?
  2. If so what steps are being taken to remedy the problem?
  3. The meeting scheduled to run 25 August at Te Rapa was transferred to Te Aroha.  Will further Te Rapa meetings be transferred while the track is being fixed?
  4. If yes to transferring further meetings for how long will this be the case?
  5. Will there be advance notification of where future meetings will be transferred to?
Thanks in anticipation.

Regards

Love the name Te Raps...they've always had a rap on themselves...

...nek minute not

You should have hit Bernie with the question

WTF haven't you made public comment on it...even on your website

and WTF have you not set up an INQUIRY so this won't happen again with major Track renovations...

I would have thought that we would be happy with answers to the questions as they are important to those stake holders planning their race campaigns.

The maori commentator could reinvent himself as  " Te Rapper "

The president, as an old boiler, will be known by her initials   KFC

That's not classy,  P.D.

The management have clearly made a fk-up but the lady has always had style.

Regardless of what we think of KFE her passion is for racing.  However we as stakeholders have let a very few run things and dictate what happens regardless of the results and expertise.

We have had NO RESPONSE (now he could trot around and through gaps) from NZTR and Te Rapa.  Probably they are waiting for tomorrow's scapegoat the NZRB.

Mr Allen you took over something that was stuffed however full credit you politely responded to the questions BOAY asked.

Track remediation at Te Rapa

  • Tue, 04 Sep 2018

  • Waikato Racing Club

The Waikato Racing Club will commence a track remediation to its course proper at Te Rapa Racecourse to prepare the track for late spring and summer racing.

Remedial work will be completed on the track to improve sand kick-back after recent feedback from a number of industry participants.

The club has also ascertained that drainage work is likely to be required on the track due to an aging system; the scope of which is currently being considered by the club and NZTR officials.

Race meetings scheduled for Te Rapa racecourse on September 19 and 26 have already been relocated. A venue for the race meeting on October 5 is yet to be established.

All going to plan, and with weather conditions playing their part, the club aims to have the track ready to race on October 22 for its Labour Day meeting, which features the Gr. 2 James and Annie Sarten Memorial Stakes.

Is that double speak, for the fine sand has blocked the existing drainage system

This lot are playing 'procedural politics' if happens when yet again you find yourself in the crap!!!

It involves Never having the where will all to actually answer direct criticism!

What you do is construct a patsy email/press release  explaining how you are working to solve the latest piece of crap the organization has delivered!

Morally bankrupt!

LOL some might even say it's racing rigging by another way!!!!!

Methinks the only thing gee knows about sand is the Days of our Lives component..

Yesterday Kenny said the drains are 10 years past their best before date...and the turn out of the straight is the real problem

He then said "MrFoskett"...sarcastically I thought...

..had recommended immediate action on the drains...to which Kenny said Yea na

"Were not screwing up our Cup meet for no f'er"...or similar
