SARAH O'REILLY WINS ANOTHER JUNIOR DRIVING CROWN

What an achievement by young Sarah O'Reilly to win her third, yes third, NZ Junior Driving Chamiopnship. I have been saying for years that she's the best since Dexter and she proved that again today. Sarah did not have a drive in one heat so what an extraordinary achievement. It's a sign of greatness that you step up when it matters. Sarah O'reilly does that. She's a cracker....

Congratulations Sarah

And wouldn't her grandfather, the gentleman of Highbank, master trainer/driver Patrick O'Reilly be proud of her. "She's got good hands," he would say.

Sarah O'Reilly is one of the best junior drivers ever.

Yes 100% right.sarah has improved and improved and drives with so much more confidence with limited opportunity's.sarah will get alot more support in the future to further her career as a race winning driver.most of all Sarah has the killer instinct.sarah is a assassin.to get that all star horse home today she went that extra yard and the stewards warned her over the infringement.its so great to see someone who really wants to win.i was happy she won.i was more happy she won on Arizona wildcat at good odds and what a great drive that was.

Yes very well done to Sarah O’Reilly for winning her 3rd Junior drivers championship.

All you can do is win!

We need all the females we have in the industry especially Juniors or a lot of the races would not be run.

Personally believe that Carter Dalgety is every bit as good, he did a great job with the horses he drew in the champs!!

I'm very sorry that Blair orange proved what a very poor judge of race form he is.mathew was always going to lead and never ever going to give up the lease as this is the best way to drive anything goes.so if Blair is such a poor judge he blantly had one intention of trying to beat Mathew and give his horse zero gone at the 500 too a walk at 200 and bearly could pick it's legs up over the line in a photo for last place.i have said to hrnz over and over why have stewards and why pay them anything.the are useless.there is only one requirement in being a harness steward.a coganative impairment.the nztab must be proud as the horse must of took plenty of money being backed 4.0 into 2.10.i suggest the tab took 60k plus.any thoughts.i do think Mathew took of way to early as well.absoultey should of won but that's racing.pity NZ has no stewards just clowns ripping off harness working people and owners.get rid of all stewards and put the money back into prize money the sport would be better off

Forbury, we do need Stewards but we need ones that have above average intellect!

Unfortunately we on the whole have had a very poor bunch over the past decade.

There needs to be accountability for the decisions that they make and with the current laws introduced, they dont seem to give a toss about their decisions or lack there of.

The industry is in big trouble and not much of benefit is being done about it!

The fields at Kaikoura over the 2 days were on the whole terrible and nothing like what they used to be!

Punters are not going to waste their time with 6 horse fields and the dividends today were pathetic in most races.

What happened to the Brain Storming that they held??

I know the fields were so bad and small I didn't bother with quadie or pick 6.quadie payed 23k and pick6 113k and nearly no one got it if second horse won thank you it didn't as I backed the postman and was cheering tim lost control of a another horse at the start.the two Williamsons were responsible for this.nothing suss just saying how they drove in them races made the winner win.

Today's best bet which I backed on Friday in the sales race for today is the heavily backed fav in betting is the Queensland Government  MOTO in name.

Warloch wins the Nz Yearling Sales race at 66-1 . (Go Sam ! isn't she great? 3 wins I think yesterday)

Probably the Russian Government MOTO with Putin in charge, more than Qld.

Yes, Samantha Ottley has taken her driving to a new level, good on her. It is a ding dong battle between Samantha, 56 wins this season, and Sarah O'Reilly, 55 wins this season.

And credit must be given to Michael House. What a great old horse Warloch has been, racing in both islands from Auckland to Invercargill. The eight-year-old gelding has earned $192,000! What a great horseman Michael House is. He keeps his horses fit and healthy and they race regularly. The industry will be in trouble if Michael House ever leaves it.

Davis unfortunately the industry is already in trouble.

Michael House has kept Palmerston North going for many years and once he stops campaigning up there, it is very hard to see harness being semi  viable as there are next to no horses in the area.

House also enabled the Junior races to be run albeit with not enough  horses for all Juniors to drive,

Not convinced that the 2 day meeting actually works,  as since it started the fields are watered down significantly.

Great for the locals and trainers but for racing not so much!

There are only a handful of trainers around now in the South Island that are training sufficiently large enough teams to make training financially viable on its own!

With costs involved compared to potentially returns, it just does not add unfortunately.

Good call Richie !! Sam T won both races tonight . With fellow kiwis Cyrstal Hackett 2nd in one and Sarah O'Reilly 2nd in the other . 2 Nz Quinellas !!! . showing the Aussies how to do it lol.😆

The QLDer Brendan Barnes 3rd and 4th in those heats tonight . He won the Fast class at Albion on a horse he now trains. The old NZ war-horse NORTHVIEW HUSTLER. doing very well for a young fella. he's actually only 25 and had over 700 wins driving.

Sam has great drives and Sarah and Crystal  not so great drives tonight at Ballarat too.

Sam on Outlaw Man who he also drew and won with last night. Will win again.Unusual to have a horse start in drivers champs 2 nights in a row and Sam will be thrilled to draw him again, especially from Barrier 1

Sort of 3rd all the way tonight was Outlaw Man and Sam Thornley tonight. fancy drawing the same horse as last night what are the chances ??

Emily Suvaljko winning both heats tonight for WA. she's a pretty handy driver like Sarah O when she gets going.

Sam drove a winner for ex-pat kiwi trainer Brent Lilley in an ealier race which was nice. (Brent also giving Crystal a drive on the 3rd placegetter. Reckon they are having a fun time !! good on em'.
