Whip Rule is an Ass! Change it now HRNZ!

HRNZ need to own up and admit that the current harness whip rule is just so wrong!!
The Dickheads that brought it in need to totally reassess it and go back to what it was and actually worked before Rennell brought the last 2 amendments in!

The decisions being brought into harness racing is crazy and doing far more harm than good!

You only have to look at the Stipes Report from Mot yesterday to see that it just does not work and needs to go.

The  Stipes  are unnecessarily affecting the livelihoods of very hard working drivers.

It is long overdue that the association stand up to HRNZ and tell them that enough is enough and we want the whip rule changed back to what is was, or are they too weak to do this???

I think you are right about the whip rule Brodie. It does need changing.

I know you won't agree with me, but I would like whipping banned. The way it is now the whip is not used often anyway. I notice the top drivers like Cameron Hart, Sarah O'Reilly, Gerard O'Reilly, Colin De Filippi, Dexter Dunn, John Dunn, Olivia Thornley, Carter Dalgety, Orange... seldom use the whip at all.

Animal rights are the future. I think HRNZ should show initiative, act now and ban whipping. Whips are only used in the straight by most drivers now and I am unsure how many whacks they are allowed... 10? Banning whips would stop a lot of punishment that a low of slow, unfit horses get now when they are being hammered 1000m from home to keep up. I hate this as it is a terrible look for harness racing.

Ban the whip.

Ban the whip.

Thin edge of wedge.  Ban whips, then nails in shoes, mouth bits, bridles, hobbles.......

Animal rights activists are a minority.

Lol, Colin De Fillippi is one of them that they are continuing to hammer for not using the whip according to their stupid rule!

Do not agree that they should ban the whip whatsoever.

Ozzie Chief harness administrator brought in banning the whip and that did not get off the ground!

The Ozzies did not accept that BS!!

The ozzies use the whip more than what the Kiwis do.

I definitely believe that if drivers were not allowed to carry a whip or persuader harness racing would be a thing of the past!

Serious punters would not bother offloading their dollars at all!!!

Seriously would decimate the industry!

There are far more bigger issues in harness than the whip and it would take next to nothing to change the rule back to what it was and what worked!

The title of this thread should be changed to "Brodie is an Ass! Who we know by now will never wake up!"

In Brodie-world, speed limits and road rules are clearly not working, so we should get rid of them. Ditto murder. The concept of the counter-factual is a complete mystery to Brodie.

If drivers are too thick to get their heads round the whip rules, then the only logical step is to get rid of whips. Of course, that would deprive Brodie and the Chief of their simple horse-bashing pleasures, hence their rabid opposition.

So how long have you been campaigning to get rid of whips?  Or is it just the flavour of the month for you and your anti racing crusade?

BTW you clearly don't understand the term "counter factual"!

It's hard to win a race without a whip to keep the horses mind on the job at hand.

Exhibit A/ we had a feature race the other night at Bendigo . The $75k G2 Bendigo Cup . An ex-pat Nz horse 'Major Meister' won the race after a SUPREME , BRILLIANT Whip drive from the budding star driver Cameron Hart.

Not a 'hope in hell' he would of gone anywhere near winning without the whip in that race. Looked like Vinnie Knight to me as he stormed to Victory.  Fantastic Stuff. check the replay on Aus harness site and be impressed !!

That’s my point, serious punters would desert harness racing if whips were banned!

Basil, calling Brodie an Ass, is very upsetting for me.

I have not got a hard skin and I will now need counselling.

Are you not aware things like that to people could have consequences?

Basil,  from your comments You would be one of the Dickheads that think by reducing speed limits is going to reduce the road toll!
