TAB in Henderson, yellow duplicate tickets, gas was ten pence a litre, women were real etc etc etc The bloke who ran the Glen Eden TAB in those days looked like a little monkey. I used to get Mum to go and put my 50 cent doubles on for me and I think he fancied her. Funny little bloke.

Newmarket
Some great tales here of setting up a race, im sure most of us could tell some great stories, But really it just shows how crooked harness is, we have always known some punters, depending on who they were related to, or who their mates were, had an advantage over others when it comes to punting. Should have stopped it years ago, i think its just natural for some in the game to cheat

They never cheated in my opinion but sure knew when to offload the cash.
Newmarket
Dave Mcarthy wrote an article about early nz racing. Saying how the early tote staff closed races late, allowing mates to win money. Also tales of dividends being smaller than what they should be, all types of things. Sometimes you go knowing they need a run or two to get fully fit and drive them accordingly, but your still trying.. Only once did we have a horse in who we trained, who I"m sure was driven to get beaten. Was a hot $2 favourite. Driver seemed stoned before he went out actually,. He could not stop laughing after getting beaten on another $2 favourite in the previous race who took no part. That was before they introduced drug testing for cannabis and was about 20 years ago. globederby12
I think it's a bit rich clobbering Harness all the time. When studying at Polytech in the 70,s as a 24 yr old my tutor Barney ,a brilliant guy and like me loved his horses , gave me a tip. Now this guy was in the know and had owned horses and had connections. 1977, Trentham , listed race, Linda Jones, Holy Toledo. He stated it would win, not might , would. Home it rolled at 12,s. Bought a nice K9 tv from that. It is the same across all codes. I can't wait for the nxt TB scandal because It will be our turn to put the boot in. Is old news by the time you read it Globe, but hot off the press when i posted, because now it has been taken down. Dont take it personally globe, but truth has to come out, you cant keep living in a 70 year old bubble and pretending its not happening, which by the stories on here, its always happened, its crooked. And ive had enough of it

Be very , very ,very bad reading...... I am quite aware of what's happening. I have been involved in both sides of the code for quite a while, and old enough to have seen shenanigans in both. Anyhow , I digress. At least I we will be able to enjoy our horses starting the new season free from interference. ( I hope)
