the galah
I see harnesslink has stopped this because they don't want to put trainers in a tricky situation if they tip the wrong horse Whoever made this decision is an absolute moron. As to any trainers who may not want to contribute ,if we can believe what harnesslink infers, Your showing comtempt to those who have supported your industry
Nowornever
I can see their point. You can not force the trainers and drivers to tip if they do not want to. Maybe the galah should ring all the drivers and trainers and post their tips here for us to see.

Its up to each trainer /driver whether they want to work with the media to promote betting with an honest assessment of their horses chances.. But for anyone to say that they will no longer contribute because the public will believe they may be going to be deceived is just moronic and childish. And for harnesslink to write a story like that just illustrates, again, how upset some industry participants are that possible dishonesty has been uncovered, and that those who run harnesslink will do anything to suck up to some sectors.
Nowornever
No but the public do jump to ridiculous conclusions, for example almost every second post here in the last two weeks, and I would not be surprised if some drivers and trainers believed it was just not worth the hassle talking to the media. Calling all trainers childish and moronic on public forums will go down well with them though! 2

That's what I believe, otherwise I wouldn't have said it. Saying every second post on here makes you think the public jumps to ridiculous conclusions, as you just did, well that's what you think, isn"t it. Looks like you are saying their contributors are moronic and childish because they will no longer contribute from what you have written above. Take it whatever way you want, read into it whatever you want. The definition of moronic is very stupid, foolish. Its a total over reaction by those living in a bubble. One is a genuine, if misplaced, fear of being caught up in Operation Inca if their tips go awry. Like the way men abandoned early childhood education after the Peter Ellis fiasco — probably excessive, but understandable. The other is simple petulance — because the media and the police have been so horrible to us, we'll take our bat and ball and go home. Like the tennis umpires threatening a boycott after the Serena Williams tantrum. Not exactly admirable, but, again, understandable. So I don't think describing their actions as 'moronic' quite fits. 1
LongOwner
The last 2 weeks behaviour by NZ Police , RIU and the press makes it a very wise decision to give the fourth estate no comment . That combined with those uneducated public who do not understand our justice system and have hung their colleagues before a fair trial is held - I would be strongly saying to anyone who rang from the press or similar get stuffed !!!!

I agree that may be their thinking. Does anyone on here really think those refusing to tip will get caught up in some police sting if they tip the wrong horse,as given as your first reason. Simple petulance. I get it .Lets punish the betting public, those who help put bread on the table and don't believe everyone is dishonest. These reasons are very stupid, foolish and childish. What about Robert Dunn giving an interview on trackside the other night giving an honest assessment of his stables charges. What do you think about that. Do you think the public distrust him. Obviously not and nor does he. What about ricky may giving his views this morning. They are behaving the way mature honest harness racing participants should behave, not like those many on here seem to support.
Brodie
Robert Dunn has nothing to be guilty about! He is always very forthcoming with his ideas and views just like his sons! This family is down to earth harness enthusiasts who have done plenty to keep the industry going in Nz If it wasn’t for them there are many meetings that would’ve struggled to hold many races! 3

I called him mature and honest. Not sure what way you took it. I realise just the mention of the name Dunn gets you all lathered up with excitement though.
