He's 60 actually. Did you miss his birthday?

Look, CWJ has been great for NZ racing, been around a long time and his record speaks for itself.

But to come back at his age after injury I think is a poor decision. Look at Tony Allan, pity he came back

wow,  gee, first off!  are you a betting man?  if so,

I will wager you that both of those riders that you have mentioned!  - who,  I have know, going back 40 years - Would wipe the floor with ya re 'current fitness'.  How close to your 'fighting weigh' are You?  :)
ps. I be happy to bet ya re my current fitne$s!  (lol, hope CS was right about you be propping up the bar a lot!)

They 100% should be able to chose weather to apply for their Licence each season.  They know if they can no longer ride safely! TK keeps his for the horse that he trains, he has no need to chase. CWJ I'm sure will keep focused on recovering! One thing that is very much in his camp, is he doesn't have to go through any silly eating reality to actually just make weight! Race fitness can only be got when and if that happens! Either Or, He be in a good place  to be dealing with it!

Crazy response, why compare riders fitness with mine? I’m not riding so not a worthwhile conversation is it.
If you get excited watching TK ride, well good on ya. Why don’t you get Leo back out riding,

And he's made a few comebacks in his time, all successful in the end. So, I'm sure he's quite capable of making good decisions about if, when and how on this one.

Yeah, well let’s see. No doubt if he did come back he would get the rides, mainly due to the poor selection of good riders in sth island.

YES. My biggest single win bet return was on a horse he rode called Iamishwara. Ten years ago at New Plymouth. $19 tote $18 fixed odds. Settled 3rd last improved across top, loomed to lead 100m, 2 horse struggle from there, won by a 'long' nose and not once at any time in the race did he whip the horse..LEGEND

Believe me, he was using the whip all the way down the straight. Hands never left the reins though.

I will agree there is a 'tapping' going on but if that is 'using' the whip then that is right up there with the cop fining you for going 1km over the speed limit. Further more if his hands never leave the rein there is no way he is whipping in any conventional sense of the word. On a positive note, thank you Curious for putting the video clip which enables those that are interested to form an opinion

I agree and that is not counted as a strike with the whip under current or likely coming rules.

A rider may at their discretion use the whip with a slapping motion down the shoulder, with
the whip hand remaining on the reins, at any time.
