    • Trainer Bill Mott said there is a "possibility" Sovereignty will miss the Nov. 1 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) after the colt registered a "mild fever" Oct. 27.View the full article
    • 5.50 for Republican Party first NZ horse home three or four months ago when Leap To Fame was so short was great value and me and a few mates jumped on that. I see the option is gone now.
    • This year's Prix Jacques le Marois winner Diego Velazquez will stand for a fee of £17,500 at the National Stud in 2026. The son of Frankel, who was bought by Sam Sangster Bloodstock on behalf of a syndicate in the days before his breakthrough Group 1 triumph at Deauville, recently arrived in Newmarket, having been retired from racing after he finished fifth in the GI Coolmore Turf Mile Stakes at Keeneland earlier this month. A six-time winner from 12 career starts – a tally which also included Group 2 triumphs at two, three and four – Diego Velazquez will be available for breeders to view during the Tattersalls December Sales. • DEL MAR, Calif. — Sovereignty (Into Mischief), the imposing 6-5 morning line favorite for Saturday's GI Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar, has spiked a fever and “there's a possibility that he won't make the race on Saturday,” according to Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott. “He had a slightly elevated temperature and that remained through the night,” Mott said to a group of media assembled on the Del Mar backstretch Tuesday morning. “This morning at 5 a.m. and when we got here at 5:30 a.m., he still had a slight fever. Since 6 a.m., we gave him some medication to help with the fever and to help alleviate the fever. His temperature is down to normal right now. He's eating everything, he looks fine.” The GI Kentucky Derby, GI Belmont Stakes and GI Travers S. winner breezed four furlongs in :49.80 at Del Mar Monday. He walked the shedrow this morning. “As of right now, there's a possibility that he won't make the race on Saturday,” Mott said. “If we don't feel like he's 100 percent, he's not gonna run.” The post Sovereignty Spikes Fever, Not 100% To Make The Classic appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions. • The time to rationalise was also "then" how did that work out?  Dumb decisions lead to dumb outcomes. Now as @Special Agent has pointed out the industry wants to use and abuse the very people/venues its being doing its best to dispose of to keep it going. The very trainers and adminstrators who wanted rid of them are now dependent on them, there is no getting rid of venues in this country with after significant ramifications. Even your idols are struggling to find surfaces to prepare horses on @Chief Stipe they were some of the biggest proponents of the rationalisation you speak of .
