    • By Jonny Turner Kirstin Green is hoping she won’t be hit with any surprises at Winton on Saturday. Green starts her Diamonds Day runner-up Summit Ultra in a maiden mile event at the Riverton meeting. After chasing home the smart Secret Agent Man, the pacer looks a huge winning threat in an even field. Green just hopes her horse’s rivals don’t throw up too many surprises in race 2, the Riverton Racing Club Mobile Pace. “He really should be winning that race, but you never know.” “Some of the others might be able to go cheeky races over the mile.” “My horse’s run on Diamonds Day was good and he’s worked well since.” Summit Ultra steps back to the mile sprint trip on Saturday and Green thinks it will suit her pacer. “I think the mile will suit him, he has got enough gate speed to push forward and I certainly wouldn’t be afraid to lead up with him.” Summit Ultra clashes with stablemate Scott in race 2. Being handed barrier 8 over the mile looks no help to the pacer. “He definitely needed his last run, but we were happy with the way he got to the line.” “Drawing 8 over a mile looks a real tough ask for him, he isn’t the sort of horse that can go out and make his own luck.” Bobbie’s Rock gets a key draw upgrade when stepping out in race 9, the Reg Drake and Alex Jenkins Life Members Mobile Pace, for the Green barn. Though the pacer’s last two outings haven’t been as good as some of his prior efforts, they came from wider second row draws. Slotting into barrier 2 gives Bobbie’s Rock the chance to bounce back to better form on Saturday. “He’s got a good draw and he does have a bit of gate speed, but it does look like one of those races where there is a bit of gate speed and a few could be coming out.” “He has been very consistent right the way through, his last couple of runs haven’t been as good, but they have been from bad draws.” “It does look like the sort of field he should be pretty competitive in.” Green will link up with one outside drive at Winton on Saturday in Trail Boss. The Amber Hoffman trained pacer made up plenty of ground when running on strongly into second on Diamonds Day. Trail Boss gets the best draw so far of his short career, slotting into barrier 2 in race 10, the Kennedy Building Ltd Mobile Pace. View the full article

    • Let go at odds of nearly 9-1, a healthy mutuel for any runner sent out by trainer Chad Brown, Klaravich Stables' DYNAMIC PRICING (IRE) (f, 3, Night of Thunder {Ire}–Shemda {Ire}, by Dutch Art {GB}) came calling for the lead inside the final 100 yards and ran down Way to Be Marie (Not This Time) to win Friday's GII Edgewood S. at Churchill Downs. Drawn two from the outside in a field of 11, the 170,000gns Tattersalls October yearling acquisition settled in midfield, three deep into the first turn, but with cover on the back of Way to Be Marie as longshot Maxisuperfly (Optimizer) cut out a decent pace. Continuing to allow Way to Be Marie to break the wind just ahead of her, Dynamic Pricing was pulled off heels in upper stretch, but Way to Be Marie had gotten the jump and looked on her way to victory. But Dynamic Pricing was kept after by Irad Ortiz, Jr. and took command in the dying strides to become the 44th worldwide stakes winner and 23rd group/graded winner for her sire (by Dubawi {Ire}). Dancing N Dixie (Neolithic) stormed down the middle of the course to finish third. It was–remarkably–a first victory in the Edgewood for Brown. Sales history: 170,000gns Ylg '22 TATOCT. • Probably a lot less than you TAB? I know he was in a training partnership with Frank Cooney for a decade with reasonable success. Driving stats show that driving probably wasnt his forte. Great to see wins by stables that arent always winning the big ones!
