  1. Agree wholeheartedly. However I've only introduced one person to racing in the last year.
  2. When that happens it will be the end of my involvement in NZ Racing.
  3. Don't tell @Thomass that's who Sam Sprat learned the technique off.
  4. He only whips @curious's horses.
  5. Might have been compacted. Anyway it's hard to tell what it was like just looking a race video. The Jockeys were keen to continue. What I've seen closeup of some of these slips is that often they are isolated and relate to one horse rather than a wide ranging problem involving a number of horses. If the horse had not become unbalanced it probably wouldn't have slipped. Why didn't the Jockey keep pushing down the outside? Or did the horse duck in? If it hadn't of slipped then the races would have continued. Odds are there wouldn't have been another slip. Again just speculation. If the riders were all in agreement that they could ride a safe AND competitive manner then surely they'd have a better idea than the Stipe? Given the wide variance in skill level and competitiveness where do you set the line? If you set the line too low then you'd never have another meeting on those tight West Coast circuits.
  6. So what's your point? Hardly third tier more like 2nd. The elite are aiming for the Group races leading up to and around the Slipper.
  7. Horses hate strong winds especially at the barriers. Instinct rules over training.
  8. That's interesting. The horse started to turn in before it slipped. Did that unbalance it? The rail was out 7m. I'd say the horse slipped on what was the inside lane for the trial day.

  10. Interesting how we get multiple vision angles now of these incidents. No Stewards reports?
  11. The horse slipped (or became unbalanced) NOT fell. But let's watch it from every angle on slo mo.
  12. Surprises me. I've walked that track about 4 times in the last year. The horse slipped but didn't fall. Rather than look at the slip on the track perhaps they should look at something else...
  13. The pattern is well and truly screwed.
  14. He's probably Mr Whippy! Hence he doesn't get to see the races until after the Stewards Reports come out.
  15. A third tier Aussie bought at Karaka?
  16. Arguably the best bar one going around at the moment. Not a bad field at all. The Kiwi B for 3yr olds has screwed the pattern.
  17. Certainly not punting. So how many lots do you own in Book 1 at Karaka? So you are not a member of that club? Mmmm how do you make a living? Making horse covers? Perhaps you are onto something and there is a correlation between those types of Jockeys and when racing was most popular.
  18. Well all the major share brokers are saying BUY BUY BUY.
  19. Just as I thought you are one those who is obsessed with hating the sport of racing to the point you'll do anything to bring it down. I suggest @Thomass that you and @curious buy a pony and join a club. If you are now having pangs of guilt for your past involvement in the sport of racing I suggest you go to the confessional and bend over and absolve yourself. Meanwhile the rest of us will get on and enjoy racing. Racing has always been about competing for a prize of some sort. Get over it.
  20. Which proves my point. If you didn't notice then 99.9% of viewers don't either. Except @Thomass who trawls the Stewards Reports when he gets to work on Monday. I very much doubt the Stewards see it in real time either instead they rewind the HD Video for each race and watch in slow mo with a clicker counter and a protractor. No wonder they need 35 minutes between races.
  21. What the Jockey shied?
  22. Or back at work and using the Governments internet connection.
  23. Follow your own advice. It was only last week that you were laying into her whip use. FFS hypocrites. I detest them.
  24. Only so much you can do in 18 months of training and racehorse. It doesn't worry me and the majority of punters watching a race. Most of them don't notice and have moved onto the next race. It is only they likes of @Thomass that gives the view oxygen. I've seen it happen in Greyhounds and Harness where the likes of the @Thomass's of this world kill the sport. So what if Jockeys cop a fine or disqualification for breaking the rules? Banning the whip just throws out the baby in the tub. Quite frankly I'm getting tired of the woke negative prick hypocrites like @Thomass and @Yankiwi. If they don't like the sport of racing then go play Chess. As for social license it is a bullshit construct that has no meaning except to a minority who want to impose their negativity on others.
