  1. So did the trainer he gave the amnesty to give him samples of the so called PED'S for testing? Of course you are not saying PED use is rife are you?
  2. They good as did disqualify her. Where are her horses going to go for four months? Or does she do the age old trick of hiring someone in?
  3. The counter argument from the pro-INCA group is that the Judge is a numpty. Has there been any word on whether the Judge is allowing the release of the evidence so the RIB can use it when they bring charges under the Racing Judicial regime? The RIB seems to have a lower threshold for guilt and a higher punishment regime than the Courts. What's more they will use Industry funds to stack their prosecution with expensive QC's. Then slam the defendants with exorbitant costs. I'm afraid the chap who has spent $170k so far will be up for more expense.
  4. Obviously hasn't been employed to fix RIB morale! https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/aisling-officer-quits-over-police-morale/IVHL7YXXKLKDDXFSADD2FIFOKQ/
  5. If NZ Harness bans whips and makes the whip and reins rules more ludicrous BEFORE any other major jurisdiction punters will leave in droves. The Anti-Racing mob minority will have achieved their objective - to end racing fullstop.
  6. Not only is the fine overkill but the suspension for four months is way over the top. It is part of the "to maintain our social license we have to be better than anyone else and punish people more than the rest of society does." We've seen cases where a license holder has been punished in the civil or criminal courts for matters unrelated to racing and then the RIB/RIU administers a far greater punishment. For example a license holder gets discharged without conviction in the District Court but the RIB disqualifies that person for 6 months and gives them a fine and then the code refuses to renew the license of that person. Does racing really need to take a holier than thou attitude? Meanwhile the RIB does nothing to address the issues within its own organisation. How can a member of the judiciary post attacks on trainers anonymously online?
  7. Perhaps they can slap their horses with the reins.
  8. Congratulations and Good Luck to the Browne's. @Emma-Lee
  9. Revealed: The Top 10 horses for the $5m All-Star Mile Melbourne Cup heroine Verry Elleegant received the most votes. By Gilbert Gardiner 07:03pm • 16 February 2022 0 King Magnus has secured a place in the $5m All-Star Mile (1600m) at Flemington on March 19, shading Lightsaber. Melbourne Cup champion Verry Elleegant polled the most votes from I’m Thunderstruck, Zaaki and Regalo Di Gaetano. But the sudden retirement of Probabeel on Wednesday, due to a suspensory ligament injury, forced a last-minute top-10 ranking reshuffle. Probabeel had drawn the fifth-most votes but the multiple Group 1 winner’s withdrawal, minutes before Racing Victoria unveiled the top-10, led to the promotion of horses ranked behind the Kiwi mare. King Magnus secured a last-minute berth. (Scott Barbour/Racing Photos via Getty Images) RV executive general manager racing Greg Carpenter was saddened by the career-ending setback to Probabeel, a four-time Group 1 winner. “The unfortunate withdrawal of Probabeel has paved the way for the 11th placed vote-getter King Magnus to win a last-minute call-up under the conditions of the race,” Carpenter said. “Given the events of today, it will certainly be a fairytale for his trainers Robbie Griffiths and Mathew de Kock and their large group of owners if King Magnus can prevail at Flemington on 19 March. “There is no doubting the quality of the first 10 All-Stars, who between them have won 16 Group 1 races and captured the hearts of the public.” Mr Brightside, Behemoth, Espiona, Elephant, Lighthouse and King Magnus rounded out the revised top 10. RV and Victoria Racing Club officials will complete the 15-horse field with up to five wildcards. The winners of the Group 1 Futurity Stakes (February 26) or Group 2 Blamey Stakes (March 5) get two of those wildcards. VRC executive general manager racing Leigh Jordon hailed the quality and depth of the top 10 horses. “This is certainly a line-up befitting the richest mile race in the world,” Jordon said. “I am thrilled to see a great mix of Group 1 performers and emerging talents, joined by popular syndicate-led representatives. “With the top 10 now in place, the race to secure one of the five wildcards will intensify over the coming weeks.” Lighthouse snuck into the top 10. Picture: Getty Images Aside from the All-Star Mile-qualifying Blamey and Futurity Stakes, the three-year-old who wins the Group 1 Australian Guineas has traditionally been offered a wildcard. A total of 134,081 validated votes were received for the 78 horses nominated for the All-Star Mile – a drop on last year’s 147,830 record. RV will publish a list of provisional emergencies next Tuesday, ranked in order of prizemoney (excluding bonuses) won in races from 1200m to 2050m from February 1, 2021 to February 21, 2022. The highest-ranked emergency is promoted in the event a top 10 horses is withdrawn prior to the final field for the All-Star Mile being declared on March 5. Major prizemoney earners, including CF Orr winner Tofane, a winner of three Group 1s in the past eight months alone, and Godolphin pair Cascadian and Colette would be among those eligible as emergencies. The lucky owner ambassadors of the top 10 All-Star Mile entries will be announced by March 2. The All-Star Mile-winning owner ambassador pockets the $250,000 first prize. 10. Injury forces Probabeel into shock retirement Jockey Brett Prebble riding Probabeel to victory at Caulfield last Saturday in what turned out to be her final start. Picture: Getty Images By Brad Waters 05:11pm • 16 February 2022 7 Kiwi star Probabeel has run her last race. Trainer Jamie Richards and owners Brendan and Jo Lindsay decided to retire the glamour mare after vets found she had a suspensory ligament injury. Probabeel won 13 of her 29 starts. The five-year-old resumed with a determined win under 60kg in last Saturday’s Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes at Caulfield in what turned out to be her last race. Probabeel won four Group 1 races, all in Australia, earning more than $4.3m in stakes. Probabeel winning the Group 1 Futurity Stakes in 2021. Picture: Getty Images The daughter of Savabeel notched her maiden Group 1 win in the 2020 Surround Stakes (1400m) at Randwick before she won the Epsom Handicap (1600m) later that year. Probabeel’s last two Group 1 wins were in Melbourne. She claimed last year’s Futurity Stakes (1400m) in the autumn before winning the Might And Power (2000m) at Caulfield. Probabeel’s Group 1 record could be even better with any luck as she was narrowly beaten in the 2020 Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill and last year’s Queen Of The Turf at Randwick. The Lindsays, who operate the famous NZ breeding operation Cambridge Stud, will decide on her first stud mating over the next few months.
  11. How so? FFS why the fixation by a small group of individuals?
  12. Well a whole lot more people spent a whole lot more. He bought 4 yearlings. So what? Not that it's anyone else business but perhaps he has a number of investors backing him. Why the fixation on what he is doing? Is it jealously or envy on your part?
  13. Your inference was that there was a lot more.
  14. No all they have to do is finish the mandates. They are no longer relevant especially when we are being told not to get tested unless symptomatic, not to go to hospital unless we a seriously ill and so on. Not to mention Omicron can't distinguish between vaxxed or not vaxxed!
  15. LOL the translation of La Crique is "The Circus" which probably describes what the Avondale Cup will be. I don't think there are enough lightweights to ride eleven horses at 52kg! Looking forward to see if the filly confirms my impression of her ability.
  16. I was hoping that Clement would be a new broom. But the new setup is worse than before. He should comment less on policy setting (e.g. whip rules) and sort the outfit out. Some of what is going on now is scandalous. Clement did leave the Police under a cloud.
  17. Crack nine-horse field for epic $1m Lightning Stakes Jamie Kah riding Nature Strip in a jumpout at Flemington on February 11. Photo: Vince Caligiuri/Getty Images. By Adam Dobbin 03:26pm • 16 February 2022 0 Champion sprinter Nature Strip will tackle eight rivals when he defends his Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) title at Flemington on Saturday. The reigning winner of The Everest will be ridden by Jamie Kah who partners up with the seven-year-old gelding for the first time since the combination were successful winning the weight-for-age contest last year. Nature Strip has drawn gate six for the $1m showpiece while fellow Chris Waller-trained runner, Home Affairs, to be piloted by Nature Strip’s usual rider James McDonald, will exit barrier eight. Nature Strip and Home Affairs won Victoria Racing Club’s biggest spring sprints during Melbourne Cup week. Nature Strip won the VRC Classic while Home Affairs was successful in the Coolmore Stud Stakes. Both races were run over 1200m. Setting the scene for an enthralling edition of the Lightning Stakes is the appearance of the Joe Pride-trained Eduardo, the evergreen eight-year-old winner of $5.6m in stakes, drawn in gate five with Nash Rawiller to ride. Last seen when annexing the $1m Classique Legend Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill in October, Eduardo has been tuned up for his Lightning Stakes assault with two slick trials at Randwick recently. Home Affairs will be ridden by James McDonald in Saturday’s Lightning Stakes. Photo: George Sal/Getty Images. Saturday’s Lightning Stakes also marks the return of Masked Crusader which split Nature Strip and Eduardo with his electrifying finish in last year’s The Everest. The hugely talented five-year-old has drawn barrier three at a distance expected to be short of his best. Adding even further spice to Saturday’s race is the appearance of 2020 Lightning Stakes winner and The Everest placegetter Gytrash. Gytrash will be ridden by last week’s CF Orr Stakes winning jockey Mark Zahra and is unbeaten at two starts at the Flemington 1000m course and has drawn barrier two. The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Profiteer joins Home Affairs as the three-year-old colts to contest Saturday’s Lightning. Both will carry 55.5kg – 3kg shy of the 58.5kg defending champion Nature Strip will carry. TAB fixed odds have Nature Strip as the $2.60 favourite ahead of Eduardo at $4. Home Affairs has drifted slightly to $5.50 while Profiteer is $11 and Gytrash $15. R7 Flemington (VIC) Good 4 View Form Fav 1. Nature Strip (6) 58.5kg 😄 34:19-6-0 L10: x121x1211x J: Jamie Kah $2.6 2. 18. How do you get to "hundreds of thousands"? I counted 4 yearlings for a total of $223,500. Have I missed some?
  19. If you rode two horses you would only be 1kg over.
