  1. Wow I didn't know that. Any chance that Ellerslie has more Premier Days and Iconic/Group races than elsewhere?
  2. But they don't get the same subsidies as the rest of the industry do they? Don't they actually get more because of their premier status and the number of "Iconic" races they run? In the 2020 annual report their total NZ Turnover was $43m and Export $19m. Total Stakes $9m.
  3. To be fair it would have been paying $1.07 on Fixed Odds to do this.
  4. Brent Crude briefly hit over $84 settled at $82.40. Heading for 7 year high.
  5. Correct. Long term - no one knows.
  6. I don't mind locking wheels with some of the MILF's!
  7. In the 2020 Annual Accounts - the last accounts published in full by the TAB. $749k went to Race Form publications - I'm not sure but how many newspapers published race fields that year? It was all funded from the Class 4 Pokie License revenue.
  8. In 2019 there was over $2m allocated by the TAB to "Racing Form publications" - where was this money spent? Was it all spent funding newspaper publication of fields?
  9. Further - from the 2019-20 NZTR Annual Report (the last time we have had any substantial financial information from the industry) - pg 9: That was after they had refused to support The Informant in even a moderate way. Since the demise of the Turf Digest and Best Bets the TAB NZ and NZTR created Raceform, funded Raceform and promoted it.
  10. So the "old" TAB which is essentially the same TAB under the current CEO's management didn't fund Raceform? Bollocks. They certainly didn't contribute to The Informant. Why would the TAB and NZTR need to advertise in Raceform?
  11. I didn't say they did. But are you saying that TAB NZ (the correct name) doesn't or has never financially supported Raceform? Or that NZTR don't or have never done so?
  12. Buzz - Wrong as usual @JJ Flash https://www.tabnz.org/ TAB New Zealand TAB New Zealand (TAB NZ) is a statutory body established through the Racing Industry Act 2020 which provides betting services to New Zealanders and makes returns back to New Zealand racing and sporting organisations.
  13. Why don't they pay back the money they are subsidised first? Or is the dream that all racing will be based at Ellerslie? Stuff the rest of the North Island.
  14. I said that in a previous Thread on this very same Topic. LOL the way it is going they'll charge someone for the wrong whip technique at the same time as the charge them for not driving the horse out!
  15. The Everest field and barrier draw The Everest Trophy. Picture: NCA Newswire/Gaye Gerard. By Clinton Payne 02:00pm • 12 October 2021 4 Comments The field has been assembled, saddlecloths allocated, and the barrier draw conducted for Saturday’s $15m TAB The Everest (1200m) at Randwick. The fifth running of Australia’s richest horserace highlights the Sydney spring carnival’s biggest race meeting on Saturday and will be run as Race 7 at 4.15pm. The two previous winning jockeys in The Everest, Classique Legend’s rider Kerrin McEvoy (Redzel 2017 & 2018, Classique Legend 2020) and Home Affairs jockey Glen Boss (Yes Yes Yes 2019) will be chasing more success in this year’s race while Jean Van Overmeire (Embracer) is the only jockey having his first ride in the race. Hall of Fame trainer Les Bridge saddles up last year’s winner and race favourite Classique Legend while Sydney’s premier trainer, and winner of The Everest in 2019, Chris Waller has two runners Nature Strip and the sole three-year-old in the race Home Affairs. The only other Everest winning trainers, Peter and Paul Snowden didn’t have a runner in the race for the first time last year but they’re back in 2021 with Wild Ruler. Brown and John O’Shea, the trainer of Lost And Running, are the two trainers having their first runner in the race. Lost And Running is also the only runner bred outside of Australia being a Kiwi-bred son of Per Incanto. 16. Some gain a false sense of ownership of a site. They feel over time that they have invested in it and therefore can dictate how things should be run. Anonymity also makes them braver than they are in public. I always draw the analogy that if you said some of things that some post out loud at the locals table at the pub you'd soon be either laughed off the table or brought into line.
  17. A lot of cake stalls, chook raffles and chocolate wheels!
  18. You're probably right. Although it doesn't help that some individuals get repetitive. That said they would be deeply offended and upset if I allowed some of the vile stuff that some post that I moderate and hide. One has to question if they are actually interested in Harness Racing at all. I'm now being abused behind the scenes because someone thinks a poster is someone who they aren't and object to something being used that is in the public domain.
  19. The system does that automatically. I didn't change it. What is your agenda Punter aka Paleface? Just to shit stir? Speculate (inaccurately) on who posters are? Or to just be destructive while using your freedom to say what you want?
  20. I haven't changed anything. What specifically are you referring to Paleface? Or are you just shit stirring for the sake of it or to be destructive.
  21. The rules are a virtue signalling farce. 12 charges in the last 6 weeks which is a drop in rate. But still!
  22. I swear there was only 6 when I first looked.
