  1. No mention that NZTR fund half the two Sales Sweepstakes races!!!!!
  2. There is a Maiden race at Newcastle today for AUD$38,000. The next race there is sponsored by New Zealand Bloodstock!
  3. The amount of information available on the TAB app when reviewing races is appalling. You get more from overseas sites!
  4. Corrected that however it is a moot point given that all the races are heavily subsidised by the rest of the industry anyway. The additional stakes don't come from revenue activities do they? Certainly not wagering revenue. Or are they using proceeds from asset sales?
  5. Feel free to post whatever you want on BOAY. The emphasis on Freedom.
  6. Aside from the miraculous recovery by Tauherenikau that enables a meeting this week but not last.....only 6 7 races! From the following it had absolutely NOTHING to do with TAB Logistical Issues! MEETING NEWS Wairarapa Track at Tauherenikau The Tauherenikau track has come up as a Slow9 on nomination morning. Following the abandonment of the Masterton meeting at that venue in March remedial work was done on the track including it being scarified and under-sowed out to 12m. In June the track was sand-banded from the 1100m to the crossing. Three horses were galloped on the track last week with the course manager and RIB in attendance. Both were more than satisfied with the way the track performed including the area of concern back in March.
  7. $2 million stakes boost for Auckland racing NZ Racing Desk 11 October 2021 Auckland Thoroughbred Racing (ATR) has announced it will be contributing over $2 million towards stakes at Ellerslie and Pukekohe Park this season. The contribution, which is over and above New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing’s minimums, comprises $930,000 previously committed by ATR and a further $1.1 million, making a total of $2.03m contributed by the Club. Wilcox said the announcement is the first step towards ATR honouring the commitments it made during the Club’s recent merger process. “We are pleased to embark on this new era of thoroughbred racing in Auckland by taking immediate action in increasing the level of return to our all-important stakeholders – our owners, trainers and jockeys,” Wilcox said. “We made it well-known during the merger process that we are firmly-focused on continuing our investment and growth in the industry, and that stakes increases are the first priority for Auckland Thoroughbred Racing. “This is a great first step on our journey towards rewarding those who choose to race with us, whether that’s at Ellerslie or Pukekohe Park.” ATR chairman Doug Alderslade said the Club’s investment into stakes further reflects its commitment to the racing industry in New Zealand. “We are delighted to be in a position to inject much needed stakes increases into our races which will benefit all industry participants,” he said. “We remain confident that as we continue to implement our new business model, we will be in a position to announce further stake increases in the future.” The stakes increases will be distributed via: Non-black type races at ATR’s iconic, premier, feature and industry days between: - 15 December 2021 - 31 July 2022 for industry days - 20 November 2021 - 12 March 2022 for those others listed ATR’s black type races held between 20 November 2021 – 31 July 2022 In addition to the above, ATR has further enhanced January’s New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Million by increasing stakes on the four non-$1m races to: Westbury Classic - $150,000 (was $110,000) Brighthill Farm Concorde Handicap - $110,000 (was $80,000) Cambridge Stud Almanzor Trophy - $110,000 (was $80,000) Collinson Forex Karaka Cup - $110,000 (was $100,000) Wilcox said the Club hopes the increases will encourage increased participation at ATR’s meetings. “We want our racecourses to be the destinations of choice for thoroughbred racing in New Zealand,” he said. “It is hoped that today’s announcement will assist in not only attracting quality fields for our feature races, but broaden the appeal of our other races throughout the season too.” Last season, Auckland Racing Club contributed $945,000 of its own monies in stakes, offering a combined total of $10.3 million and Counties Racing Club offered a total of $1.5 million in stakes. This season, ATR will offer a total of $11 million in stakes between 20 November 2021 - 12 March 2022.
  8. Tricky shape Caufield.
  9. Of course none of these organisations are putting in funds!!!
  10. @JJ Flash has no idea about the history behind this publication nor the extensive financial assistance it has had from TAB NZ and NZTR. Financial support I might add that The Informant was unable to obtain because TAB and NZTR decided to buy the Best Bets and Turf Digest off Fairfax. Fairfax saw them coming!
  11. From their website: Published every Thursday by Raceform Publications Ltd with the support of the TAB,
  12. Absolute BOLLOCKS!!!!! Are you saying there is NO funding from the industry? That is it is all funded by subscribers?
  13. He has a specific style that centres around timing the last run and from time to time either his timing is off or the tracks don't suit. The Randwick and Rosehill tracks seem to be cutting out more and more for some reason. They are certainly not racing as fair and even as the Melbourne tracks.
  14. So he should given the horse talent he gets to ride. However that isn't to say he hasn't recently gone through a flat patch interspersed with some rides that have been below his normal standard. But you're the expert judge who only seems to post to knock a selected few individuals opinions.
  15. That's my opinion. But there is some irony in that you deride my JMac comment but then proceed to deride Williams view.
  16. She wasn't riding him.
  17. The super hard surface for one. This is what Craig Williams said: "He's not as comfortable around Caulfield and even when they outsprinted him late, he still stuck on. Neashem didn't agree and felt the early dawdle didn't help him and Williams should have let him bowl along rather than constrain him.
  18. Well his target was the Cox Plate which they won't get a run in now. So I guess the option is to give him one more run as planned in something else. Caulfield did catch Zaaki out as well.
  19. I was inferring you offered a tipping service like @Thomass. Kahma Lass at 12's Sneaky Five at 26's Dirty Thoughts at 9's Unfortunately The Chosen One didn't round the day off.
  20. They were 0.5 seconds off the track record too. So it wasn't a bad run. Have they decided to finish this campaign?
  21. Wide most of the journey carrying 59kg giving at least 3kg to the whole field and the winner 5kg. Time 1:34 for the 1,600m rail out 5m. Remind me which tipping service you run because I'll avoid it in future just like @Thomass's.
  22. I didn't say there was Jockey error. Your bias took you there not me. So we agree the Jockey stopped riding halfway down the straight because the horse was doing its best.
  23. Great photo.
  24. You obviously didn't watch Elephant's race or the Jockey's comments afterwards.
