  1. We don't hear from the millions that have had Covid-19 and fully recovered either.
  2. If it's secret how do you know it is graphene oxide?
  3. Rain won't worry her. Scratched from Randwick. Still in the Turnbull Stakes field. Wow what a field that is. 10 starters and all have a Rating 100+. No trouble meeting Grp 1 Status! Average Rating is 108!
  4. She has ridden poorly this year and in a few big races last year.
  5. End result the quality of the fields decline even more and the horse has no future and the owners get the stitch. What's more the 2 mid weekers don't cover the costs of getting the horse to races let alone recouping any of the original purchase price.
  6. Hang on a minute. The horse lost its rider in the gates and you are suggesting that the handicapper would deem that sufficient to deduct a point from its Rating of 57? The judgement says that the horse had been "fractious before the start" and because of that it was the last one to load. With the attendant climbing back along the gate to the stand to the horses side. The horse drawn 2 (Curve was in 3) went off and Curve obviously reacts to this. The gates open soon after. The Jockey says he didn't see any hand as he was busy trying to stay on the horse. Really?! Was the horse playing up perchance? The inference from the judgement is that the starter assistants actions caused the horse to rear. Yet there is no clear vision of what the assistant did to elicit the response.
  7. Can you translate @paleface adios?
  8. Karrots you are as good as anyone at hijacking a Topic. Have you located that woman in the floral dress for me yet? Yours truly Cockwomble.
  9. Doesn't look promising for Cup week. Ardern and Co have had 18 months to organise themselves yet are now saying they won't be prepared for large events until Summer. There is no reason why the South Island isn't in Level 1. The only reason is that they have no option but to release the screws on Auckland which is a risk and to mitigate that risk they have to keep the rest of the country at a level higher than it needs to be.
  10. Why the fixation with @Brodie?
  11. You make a mockery of yourself. In this post just last week you mentioned a horse Sweet Billy driven by your father. Only takes less than a minute on the HRNZ website to find out who that was.
  12. FFS you told everyone yourself months ago. What's more you have consistently shown no attempt to protect your identity. For example being smart you posted how your father had a horse win at Hokitika paying $6. You also said "I bet you can't work out how it was the only horse in the field that had ran right handed before".
  13. Yes I did mean the Integrity Board. Why the Stipes when they don't have the licensor relationship nor the employer one? Don't they have enough to work on without extending their remit? At the end of the day the Employer relationship is governed by legislation that the RIB have no control over let alone any expertise in.
  14. "Deemed to be a non performer" how?
  15. I don't. But anyway do you think a lot of this is written to snitch on licensee employers? Just some of the wording. For example why would you as an employee contact need to contact the Racing Integrity Board over a bullying issue?
  16. I imagine it was found pretty quickly. The problem was easy to identify and fix. It may have even been a last minute change that hadn't been cache updates with their CDN Cloudflare. I can't understand why they bother with Cloudflare when the audience is local not global. But then TAB NZ use it as well and it is the source of some of their problems.
  17. The link seems to work now. https://whenracingwins.nz/get-help-report
  18. The link has been fixed. But I still find it unbelievable that the site went live without testing the most important link. Not that it is clear for the user on where to find it as @nomates points out.
  19. Good point. How do they measure the success of this initiative?
  20. Gore RC 24 September 2021 – R8 (request for a ruling) – CURVE ID: RIB4901 Respondent(s): Michael Pitman - Trainer Applicant: Mr M Davidson - Stipendiary Steward Adjudicators: Mr N Skelt Persons Present: Mr M Pitman (Trainer of CURVE and representing the Owners), Mr S Batt (Starter), Mr R McIlwrick (Starter's Assistant), Mr K Chowdhoory (Apprentice Jockey) Information Number: A15860 Decision Type: Request for Ruling Rule(s): 632(1) Request for Ruling: As to whether the horse CURVE (K Chowdhoory) was denied a fair start Stewards Report Results Animal Name: CURVE Code: Thoroughbred Race Date: 24/09/2021 Race Club: Gore Racing Club Race Location: Gore Racecourse - 136 Gore-Mataura Highway, Gore, 9772 Race Number: R8 Hearing Date: 24/09/2021 Hearing Location: Gore Racecourse Outcome: Determination EVIDENCE: Following the running of Race 8 the Hokonui Suzuki Handicap an Information was filed (A15860) by Stipendiary Steward Mr M Davidson “Requesting A /Ruling” as to whether the horse Curve (K Chowdhoory) was denied a fair start. Mr M Pitman (Senior) the Trainer of Curve and also representing the owners was present at the hearing, along with Mr S Batt the Official Starter and Mr R Mcllwrick the Starter’s Assistant. Mr K Chowdhoory Apprentice Jockey and Rider of Curve attended the hearing at the request of the Adjudicator to give evidence at a later point. Rule 632(1) provides as follows: (1) If, in the opinion of the Judicial Committee, a horse which does not finish in the first three placings was prevented from taking an effective part in a race owing to the mechanical failure of the starting stalls, or is denied a fair start and such occurrence materially prejudiced the chance of that horse (but not where the horse is slow away by its own accord), the Judicial Committee may declare such horse to be a non-starter. SUBMISSIONS: Mr Davidson read the Rule to clarify certain aspects pertaining to this alleged incident, after which Stipendiary Steward Miss Hayley pointed out on the various video clips, the actions of Curve, and the Assistant Starter Mr Mcllwrick. Mr Davidson stated that Curve had been fractious prior to the start and was drawn 3 and was the last horse to be loaded into the gates. Mr Davidson highlighted the loading of Curve into the gates on the video clips and acknowledged Assistant Starter Mr Mcllwrick had assisted the horse into the gates. It was Mr Davidson’s opinion that the horse had reared just prior to the gates opening, and that there was no mechanical fault with the gate. Mr Mcllwrick acknowledged he had assisted the horse whilst going into the gates but did not hold him when the gate was released. After viewing the slow motion video clip of this action Mr Mcllwrick confirmed he had placed his hand into the gate, but not specifically on the horse. Mr Pitman stated that the video evidence was very clear in his opinion. Curve had started 21 times at the races and had caused no issues at the barrier previously or going into the starting gates. Mr Pitman said the horse was settled in the gates, it was not fractious and all four feet were on the ground prior to the gates opening. He continued by highlighting the video footage, showing Mr Mcllwrick’s hand coming across into the gate, at which point Curve has reacted and has raised his head to one side and then reared as the gates opened. Apprentice Jockey Mr Chowdhoory was called to give evidence. He stated that it all happened in a “blurr” and split second, and that he was totally focused on staying on the horse. He could add nothing further. REASON FOR DECISION: The Committee carefully considered all of the submissions presented, and in particular reviewed the video footage several times, focusing on the slow motion and still shots of the incident in particular. There is no question or suggestion of fault of the mechanical gates not opening. The video footage is also clear that the Assistant Starter Mr Mcllwrick has reached in just prior to the gates opening. Mr Pitman is correct that the horse has all four feet on the ground prior to the gates releasing and did not appear fractious at this point. The video evidence shows Curve reacting at the point of time Mr Mcllwrick has reached inwards. It is unclear where Mr Mcllwrick’s hand is placed on the video footage. There is no conclusive video, or verbal evidence, that clearly outweighs the other in this instance. The video evidence suggests doubt as to why the horse has reacted. In the best interests of the Racing Industry, the connections of the horse, and the betting public, Curve has been denied a fair start and declared a non starter. CONCLUSIONS: The Committee rules that Curve is declared a non starter. Decision Date: 24/09/2021 Publish Date: 27/09/2021
