  1. Plus a trial. So let's split the difference and say not 3, not 5 BUT 4. It might not be any of my business but given we are talking sport it is still OK to have an opinion. One of your owner's suggests there might be "a plan". All I was saying in relation to his comment is it's a big call to wait until the Guineas. Then again maybe Marine is feeling the track.
  2. What change the rider after 5 starts for the Guineas?
  3. We must be about due for the September "Performance" update and JJ Flash's erudite analysis!
  4. Rule Number(s): Rule 870(3) and Breaking Horses RegulationsThis protest arises from the running of Race 6, The Haras Des Trotteurs Sires Stakes Champs Mobile Trot 2200m. Pursuant to Rule 870(3). Senior Stipendiary Steward, Mr Muirhead lodged an Information instigating a protest alleging that "ONE MAJIC KENNY (placed 4th) galloped excessively over the final 60 ... 5. Brodie should have held off until today for his fixed odds bet on the Spitfire. Gone from $51 to $81.
  6. Are you saying more than two?
  7. You feeling the pressure Pitty? What was it 17 runners and one winner? Why don't you just come out and say Te Akau? But don't forget the Matamata crowd supported keeping the Guineas south. Let's see..... Ashburton - 1 win Riccarton - 2 wins Ruakaka - 2 wins Cambridge - 3 wins Matamata - 1 win Hunterville - 1 win Looks like a fair distribution of the spoils to me but the real money is not up for grabs yet.
  8. It was as bad as Randwick in terms of kick back. It went off real quick.
  9. Well Aquaman you got the money. I think the track held up really well considering the rain - a true Soft 7 IMHO.
  10. Three European bred Stallions in the first three! Four European breds in the first four! Ouch.... When you look at Sir Dragonet's last second to Magical in the Tat's Gold Cup....well....Amory 3rd! All looks ominous for a downunder win in the Melbourne Cup!
  11. Russian Camelot, Buckhurst and Mugatoo. Can't leave Probabeel out..... Pretty even field really. Changed my mind again. Kolding.
  12. Times today are all significantly faster than the same meeting two years ago run on a D4.
  13. I realise the link works but just couldn't find it navigating through the website. As for code of conduct you are probably right.
  14. Pass - for all I know the REAL Stipes haven't even asked the question. So whether the jockey's agree or not could be a moot point. However both Te Rapa and Riccarton started at a D4 for the day - similar weather conditions. Te Rapa has been upgraded. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that Riccarton has improved during the day as well. From a time perspective it is hard to work out. The G3 was just won by a maiden in 1:36 so comparing times with Te Rapa where there is a higher class of horse racing is not a good indicator. The maiden's won the first in 1:23 which would suggest that it was better than D4 plus it has been a warm day since. In any event it isn't a criticism just an observation.
  15. Couldn't find that....is it in an area for license holders?
  16. Woops sorry TAB you ARE offering Fixed Odds at Penn. Is this where the trainee bookies practice?
  17. Bit of a dilemma really - Race 9 at Penn is timed to start at the same time as Race 3 from Moonee Valley.
  18. Can anyone explain why the TAB broadcasts gallops from Penn National on a premier day of racing? I realise it is only on Trackside 2 but 5 mins to go and there is $55 in the Win pool and $18 in the Place pool! $20 in the Quinella and only $3 in the Trifecta pool! I'm surprised they're not offering Fixed Odds betting!
  19. I'd say the track is an improvement on 3 October but I'd say it is more a G3 than a D4.
  20. Doesn't look 16m. Mind you it's hard to tell the distance between the inside rail and the outside rail at Riccarton today.
  21. R2 1200m 1:08.88. Tracks improving!
  22. Well don't listen to Track Manager's! Eternal optimists! Now a Soft 7.
  23. Tick over 1:23 for the 1400m Race 1. Seems to be better than 3 October. Could they have the rail out any further?
  24. Um one fact you got wrong in that outburst was it's about $9m not $20m in Pokie funding. I won't comment on your opinions.
