  1. I suspect that too. Thoroughbreds are going to go into bat with the theory that because they have higher costs to produce then they should get a bigger cut of the pie. The Dogs well they'll be getting stuff all kibble with Hughes batting for them.
  2. Quite possibly as under the new structure the codes have to agree. Saundry vs Holden vs Hughes. However there will be another organisation created called Racing NZ. Yet another Board and more cost. I've yet to work out where the extra revenue is coming from but supposedly they are smarter than all of us.
  3. All because they don't want to pay Satellite fees?
  4. Peter Moody speaks highly of him - NOT!
  5. Further I'm not sure stakeholders realise but under the new upcoming industry structure Saundry will have a lot more power than previously. Him, Holden and Huges make an unlikely trio.
  6. I have to agree with your comparison to Purcell. The communication from him was light years ahead of Saundry in terms of detail.
  7. Actually All the Aces that email you posted from Bernard has really got me angry. What's more it confirms what I hoped wouldn't be the case with RITA and co. It's just going to more of the same BS and screw the provinces!
  8. FFS I just read the Ministry of Health sent staff to the USA to find out how they are doing Covid-19 quarantine. Only now are they providing approved PPE masks when people step off their plane and travel to quarantine! The point.....well I have to concede there worse administrators than those in Harness racing.
  9. That's a bit of smoke and mirrors. The fibre network is the same - fibre is fibre it is what's put on the end at the premises that is different. THAT technology is being driven by the Broadcaster (NEP and RITA) NOT the network provider. So the physical connectivity from the CORE to the destination is the same as the fibre that runs right past the Foxton racetracks front gate. Of course the "business cases" will get better when you hold more race meetings at a venue. BUT it shouldn't be Broadcasting costs that determine when and where race meetings are held. At my last gig as IT Manager I chose Vocus (Callplus) as our network provider converting all our countrywide branches to fibre. So I have a very detailed understanding of their network. In layman's terms the fibre pipe is no different to any other pipe it's just the bits of tin you put at each end and the speed width of the crap you blow down the pipe. I suggest Bernard instead of retrospectively justifying the decisions to have the races where they are you get your arse into gear and challenge why the hell RITA are continuing with a high cost model of broadcasting. Further if you talk to the right people at Vocus and get a decent techo on the job then you could put fibre into ALL locations and transport the "tin at the end" to each course each race day. BTW I bet the back up on course is the Broadcast van linking to Satellite!!
  10. "Looking to get into racing" or punting? I'm not sure that many are wanting to get into OWNING a horse. You are making an assumption that young people EVER listen to older people. You are forgetting that Racing.com is the industry funded website for racing in the state of Victoria. As a website its functionality is appalling especially considering the extraordinary amount of money that has been spent on it. However I'm enthusiastic about Australian racing - quality fields racing on many interesting tracks and if you are an owner good stakes. As for Rosso - we've got too used to the shiny looking clones that sound good but say nothing. If you stop and listen Rosso actually knows what he is talking about.

  12. I was referring to the high cost broadcasting setup that is dictating where racing occurs. Which has nothing to do with what customers or stakeholders want. I was reminded of the dumb decision making by NZRB in this regard when I saw Samsung advertising their latestest 8k Oled TV. It generates "colours the human eye can't determine". Uh?
  13. It's all because of their self imposed broadcasting constraint. Again not related to customer wants or industry stakeholders needs.
  14. Rule Number(s): 642(1)Following Race 6 (St Johns Club HWT) a protest was lodged pursuant to Rule 642(1) by Ms Nicholas alleging that horse number 2 (ZENTANGLE) or its rider placed 1st by the Judge interfered with the chances of horse number 6 (TALLYHO TWINKLETOE) placed 2nd by the Judge. The information alleged interference ... (Feed generated with FetchRSS)View the full article
  15. Surely those that love the SPORT of racing are sick of being Bullshitted to. We can't keep paying your exorbitant salaries any longer. Dean - suggest you turn up at track work somewhere anywhere tomorrow. Wear your red bands rain coat and cock warmer. Have a go at washing a horse down and walking it around in the early morn. Or does your $700k salary not allow you to do that? It's ok the workers will provide an umbrella for you. By the way Winnie Peters likes single malt whiskey.
  16. So same projection as the last 5 years? Sounds like a brothel projection predicktion.
  17. I don't get it. Please someone (JJ Flash) explain. Covid-19. Less races. Higher costs of delivery. Government bailout. Broadcasting and TAB system costs unchanged. EQUALS Same stakes.
  18. I was being kind just like Jacinda has asked me to be.
  19. As you know I'm fairly tolerant as a moderator. Historically I was pressured to not be so tolerant but I have maintained consistency. The difference with Mehe is a quantum of factors: 1. He posting activity always begins as a response to one poster; 2. His posts don't contain any substantive counter argument and play the man; 3. Rather than reform his approach when nicely asked he abuses the moderator; 4. When playing the man he will often resort to offensive language. That's the difference.
  20. Posting statements like "your(sic) wrong" or "you don't know what you are talking about" doesn't constitute "positive info about Covid.."! As for your insistence calling Brodie and I "boyfriends" one can only assume that your obsession with him is leading to jealousy. Note: (sic) is Latin for "thus" and means in the above context the misspelling of "you're" (the contraction for "you are") has been deliberately left as it was first written.
  21. Aside from the fact I'm heterosexual I don't actually know Brodie. As for making you post look like something else I can assure viewers I haven't altered your posts. So the only conclusion one can reach is that YOU "made it look like that". Geez and you wonder why you are being moderated.
  22. That's not correct. However feel welcome to post something of substance about Covid-19. You have yet to do that.
  23. It proves his point that you are obsessed with him. The reason you are moderated is 90% of your posts are aimed at Brodie. For once try commenting on the issue raised by Brodie rather than playing the man.
  24. Which proves Brodie's point.
