  1. So it is announced in the NZ Herald first?
  2. Does it look wide enough to hold races on?
  3. % rain means the probability it will rain not how much. Just listened to Track Manager on course on Radio Sky Sport 2KY. 20mm on course overnight. Not raining. 3mm expected over next hour or so. Concurs with my radar analysis. Will start Soft5 not expected to get worse according to Track Manager.
  4. Are you a glass half empty type? Which radar are you looking at? The BOM radar shows rain easing.
  5. Still raining but easing. Track now a Soft 5. 23mm since 9am yesterday.
  6. Mmmmm......Chris isn't on this list anymore. He was earlier in the week! 7. Not that I can find.
  8. Any bets on how quick they'll run in the first two races?
  9. Race Day Weather: Fine Track: Dead 4 Rail: Out 8m to 1000m, then out 11m to winning post Weather and Track last updated at 6.11am Saturday 24 October
  10. This was written BEFORE the Manikato! https://www.racing.com/news/2020-10-23/news-triple-g1-winner-can-cause-upset
  11. The racing.com review of the Manikato said the track firmed as the night went on. 14mm plus what is forecast for this morning will downgrade the track. But the Strathayr does improve quickly. Just checked now up to 18mm but forecast to stop raining by 8am.
  12. 14mm overnight.
  13. They ran 1:08.76 in the Manikato - would suggest that the track wasn't a Slow 6.
  14. I was reading the track conditions off the OZ racing sites. Dont trust the NZ TAB information EVER!
  15. Lady Astor.
  16. Race 1. 2:05.5 last 600m 34
  17. They predicted it raining 8pm Melbourne time.
  18. Upgraded to a G3. Go figure!
  19. Magic Wand scratched
  20. They may get through the night without rain.
  21. Are you sure the track will go off that quickly? The Strathayr holds up pretty good and doesn't get heavy as we know it. Currently a Good 4.
  22. Friday Morning Weather: Fine Track: Dead 5 Rail: Out 8m to 1000m, then out 11m to winning post Weather and Track last updated at 8.51am Friday 23 October
  23. Yep I've had to recalibrate my picks. Heavy rain forecast today and tomorrow. Racing tonight on the track won't help at all.
  24. Rosie Myers communicating with family NZTR 22 October 2020 Injured jockey Rosie Myers has shown significant improvement today with husband William Fell saying she was talking to family and understanding what was happening around her. Rosie was injured following a fall at the Foxton trials on 6 October and was initially flown to Wellington hospital in an induced coma. The popular Central Districts jockey was moved out of ICU last weekend and then on to Lower Hutt hospital where she had undergone facial surgery on Tuesday. Until this morning, the 33-year-old had not communicated verbally with family members. William said that while she was “just like Rosie” the fact her face was still swollen and sore she wasn’t easy to understand, however he said she did appear to understand what had happened. “It’s obviously early days but all going well Rosie will go to the Rehab unit either Friday or Tuesday,” William said. “It’s just good to know we are going in the right direction – she is tough!” William said he was planning to share a video from industry participants with Rosie later today. The video came together thanks to Rosie’s good friend Sophie Baker who encouraged people to video their best wishes under the banner #youvegotthisrosie. The team at LOVERACING.NZ then compiled the messages into a video to be shared with Rosie, a short version of the video can be seen on the LOVERACING.NZ Facebook page.
  25. You are making some big calls. Any proof?
