  1. Once the crew that don't like him have moved on then he has full access. I'm just waiting for that crew to move on.
  2. BOAY doesn't NEED him. But he does contribute as opposed to undermining everything. Maybe I'm too tolerant however as per BOAY'S mantra just post what you say at the local!
  3. Has anyone noticed that if you click on "Exrended Form" on the TAB APP it diverts you to a website named new.tab.co.nz. Which means the App isn't integrated with their form databases. Was the App part of the Paddy Power deal? Doesn't seem so. Bear in mind that the App has cost many millions already!
  4. Actually traffic has held up well and is still increasing but I suspect that is on the back of harness and dogs. Mind you Thomaas never worried those guys. I had to laugh when someone said he was trolling because he was using the laugh emoji!
  5. Chitura will attempt to continue her brilliant recent form and boost her Harness Jewels prospects at Timaru on Wednesday. The Steven McRae trained pacer sits twelfth in the four-year-old mares rankings for the category’s $150,000 final at Addington, ahead of competing in a junior drivers’ event. John Morrison has been charged with helping Chitura secure a hat-trick of wins from barrier 9 over 2000m. It is a tricky alley that McRae thinks his mare can overcome. “I think she should be able to work in that race and still be competitive.” “And she is probably going to have to from the draw.” “It will be a bit tactical, there looks to be a bit of gate speed there, too.” “He has got a few options there, Johnny.” Chitura goes in to Wednesday’s race after producing a brilliant win in the Southern Belle Speed Series final at Winton, earlier this month. She and driver, Craig Thornley, were left three-wide without cover from the 800m, but that did not stop Chitura from powering past horses that had enjoyed more economical runs. The impressive victory was a sign that the Changeover mare was at the peak of her powers, McRae said. “We were not too surprised with the win, were we more worried that it was her first run for a while.” “I have always thought a wee bit of her, but she has been frustrating at times.” “I don’t know if it is just a Changeover thing, but she has taken a bit of time.” “She really seems in the zone the last two or three months.” Though Wednesday’s race carries a modest $9000 stake, its result could majorly reshap the four-year-old mares rankings for the Harness Jewels. Divinia Bellezza holds the highest ranking of the horses in the race at number six on the leader board. Be Mine Tonight can firm up her chances of making the $150,000 4YO Diamond by improving on her 11th place in the race rankings. Sweet Mary goes in to the event in 18th position and about $7000 behind Chitura. Flyin Milly Mac and Lilac Star look to have faint hopes of making Harness Jewels day, but could boost them with victory. The McRae stable will give Forbury Park debutante winner, Art’s Dash, his second start in rating 40-55 company at Timaru. Though he is not likely to face the testing and same rain-soaked conditions, the standing start event should to be a more difficult task than his Dunedin debut. “He was pretty professional and his manners are his biggest asset,” McRae “Hopefully he can put himself in a good spot and be competitive.” “But it is hard to jump from a maiden at Forbury up in to the next grade.” McRae will also start Thunderfromthethrone in a standing start event at Timaru. The horse brings a patchy form line in to the race, but can improve on that, McRae said. “He has been pretty frustrating, he has a few little glitches in his gait.” “We have changed a bit of gear and shoeing around this week and he has seemed a lot happier.” View the full article
  6. Jaccka Jeorge, a half brother to Jen Jaccka, starts at Ascot Park on Tuesday. Photo: The Digital Birdcage. Jaccka Jeorge can continue his family’s impressive trotting legacy at Ascot Park on Tuesday. But, trainer Brett Gray is not convinced the horse is ready to show his full potential just yet. Jaccka Jeorge caught the eye with a huge debut performance, to run fourth behind Big Iron, at Winton earlier this month. The effort, where the trotter broke early and recovered to run fourth, confirmed that the half-brother to Jaccka Justy and Jess Jaccka, by Andover Hall from Janine Jaccka, has some of his family’s trotting prowess. “He has got a bit of that natural ability the family has got,” Gray said. Gray was not totally convinced Jaccka Jeorge is ready to show the full extent of that ability when he lines up at Ascot Park. “He is typical of that family, they do take a little bit to get going.” “He is probably better behaved than most of the family have been, but they do take a couple of starts to click in to it and do things right.” Gray has a two-pronged attack on Tuesday’s maiden trotting event with Richard The Great lining up alongside Jaccka Jorge. The trainer said the three-year-old has also shown good promise. “I think he will be a nice horse in time.” “He is a bit immature, but I think he will be a nice horse, he has a bit of ability.” “He will probably be better next year.” Richard The Third was faultless when running second on debut at Forbury Park, before galloping late in the same race Jaccka Jorge contested at Winton. Gray hoped that was a one-off mistake from his usually reliable trotter. “That was the first time he had done anything wrong, so we were a bit stumped as to why he did that.” Gray will line up first starter, The Interceptor, in maiden company on Tuesday. The three-year-old’s second to Pembrook Playboy at last week’s Ascot Park trials was the latest of a number of good trial efforts the horse has put in ahead of his debut. “He went good at the trials the other day, he is probably one of my best chances.” Hazer won a trial in moderate time on the same day, ahead of him starting in another maiden event on Tuesday. The four-year-old does not bring a sparkling race day form-line in to the event, largely because of bad luck, Gray said. “He is better than his form suggests, he was parked three wide in his first two runs.” Loma Jaccka will clash with highly touted three-year-old, Montefalco, in rating 50-55 company. Gray expected a good run from the consistent mare, who has drawn barrier 2. “She was a bit stiff last time, I think she is a nice chance.” Edie Jaccka starts for the Gray stable in Tuesday’s junior drivers’ event. She looks the outsider of the trainer’s six-horse team at the Invercargill meeting. View the full article

  13. I'll be honest I don't bet at the moment. Can't afford it unless the TAB freebie comes into my account which I keep 80 cents in. That 80 cents let's me see Trackside on my phone when horses like WINX are racing. Although sometimes thats like watching a dyslexic stutterer giving the sermon at church on a Sunday. However I do keep an active interest in Racing and am very interested in new technology. This "new" TAB app and website is seriously challenging my interest. WTF can't I see the correct order of finish AND the correct form for races in NEW ZEALAND! Isn't that data WE control? Surely it is in a decent database OR is it the "IP" of the code governing bodies and they are holding out from NZRB? Or does the NZRB not have the technical skills and the dosh to run their own database that feeds into the useless app and website?
  14. Actually having thought about this attack on my integrity I realised that everyone who had Competition Moderation rights would have received an email when Thomaas posted. Suggest you check with your mates Pete how many times Thomaas has posted and the veracity of my statements. That is you don't have "just my word for it"!

  20. Canterbury junior driver Ben Hope scored a career highlight when he drove Muscle Mountain to victory in the group 3 New Zealand Trotting Stakes at Addington on Saturday. Hope produced a cool tactical drive to win the first group race of his career with the two-year-old trained by his parents, Greg and Nina. “It was a huge thrill,” the reinsman said. “It is the biggest highlight of my career – definitely.” Hope was faced with a key tactical decision with a lap to go in the $30,000 feature. Muscle Mountain’s main rival, Ultimate Stride, challenged him for the lead and the junior driver elected to take a trail behind the blueblood. After a few nervous moments when Muscle Mountain was held up before the home turn, it proved to be a winning move. “I have heard of the huge wraps they have got on Ultimate Stride and how good they think he is,” Hope said. “I really respected Ultimate Stride and if it was any other horse I probably wouldn’t have handed up.” “I was a little bit worried he would hand up to the parked horse.” “But, when he got a little bit tired we were lucky enough to get off and get a run.” Once Hope got Muscle Mountain off the back of the tiring Ultimate Stride and in to the clear, the trotter reeled in his rivals to score with utter ease. “He is tough, but he has got a lot of speed.” “As soon as I pulled him out he felt like the winner, he felt like he was going to go bang and he did.” “He ran a 27sec last 400m and he did it pretty comfortably, really, and he wasn’t really pushed.” “He has certainly got the speed and the toughness.” Sectional times showed Muscle Mountain ran his last 400m in 27.98sec. Third placegetter, Tailored Elegance, produced the race’s fastest closing sectional in 27.90sec. Muscle Mountain showed poise that several of his rivals could not when breaking runners caused two false starts. The New Zealand Trotting Stakes finally got underway during attempt number three. “He was just walking around like it was nothing to him.” “That was a really good sign, because if they have got the temperament they are half way there.” One Majic Kenny impressed with his hard fighting second placing behind Muscle Mountain. The Robert Dunn trained trotter served it up to the leader, Ultimate Stride, in the last lap and fought resolutely in the straight. Tailored Elegance ran home strongly for third after tracking the winner through on the home turn. View the full article
  21. It could go on for years. The Police don't have any experience with this sort of stuff and as evident from the RIU'S effort with the JCA they don't either.
