  1. Interesting the fixed odds v tote price, 40s on fixed I think, i reckon there'd be a fairly long list of horses out there that don't pay there way, must have been a handy performer winning 10.
  2. Didn't see the race, but did see it last start and certainly ran on well, draw for me would have been the deciding factor, but hay great value for a small outlay, well done to those who got on.
  3. Sums thing up very well, such a said state of affairs when all of the professional workers across the board can't return to work because of their vaccine status.
  4. I'm sure there be a few more categories this year,
  5. Tough gig, really do feel for him, we all like our food, just spare a thought for those waisting kilos to make a living.
  6. Yes and in many younger people as well.
  7. When you look back at some of those rides on loader, one of many, remember one race at banks peninsula back in the day, not a hope in hell when they turned for hone, what a run, got there by a nose.
  8. Certainly can't argue with all his achievements and career over the years, the only time he rode one for us,drew wide stayed 3 wide most the trip cariried 59kg over 2000m, on a favourable heavy track, which he told us he didn't handle, upside horse backed up following weekend same track and conditions won well, with a different rider and a very economical trip, but that's racing, you just never know.
  9. Agree way to many forms or betting, and just stretches the dollar further, I'm mostly each way punter, with the odd trifecta or multi, hard enough to pick one let alone 3, got to be careful these days as it's to hard to come by, to fritter away.
  10. Sports betting not for me, only had one ever, and that a free bee that had to be spend on soccer world cup, had two bets at riccarton Saturday, no return, but both roughies went tidy races and be worth following, thistle and lapa mala who was paying 70s, I like those long odds, had a couple of tidy collects off mi Carol who won a couple a while back one that paid 33s, did take her a few starts to fire in the deep south.
  11. I guess when you when you backed noted soft trackers, and the conditions change in the blink of an eye, doesn't help matters, my issue was the upgrade from a soft seven to a good 3, surely the pemtrometer could have been a tad more accurate early on, I like you lose alot to, but had a wee purple patch last 2 months, generally most things are stacked against us even at the best of times.
  12. Interesting awapuni track today, slow 7 when I put my bets on, but certainly changed quickly to a good track early on. Could have saved my money had I known earlier.
  13. Have not tried them for many years, think video recorder ok but dont know for sure, but the old style 10 ton TV is blown an o ring, although not a problem to replace.
  14. I think I have an old video recording of the derby smash, only any good if the old video recorder works, certainly was a shocker, as for Basil Dean was certainly one of my favourites, tough breed back in those days, and true open classy performers.

Nice win by emanon today, same dam as legarto, also the handy performer locally sauced,
  16. I hope not on the bbq, it might give them the trots.
  17. Great day out at Westport, crowd may have been a bit lighter, but we are in March, it's not boxing day, very good win by she's tough, finally got a gap, thought me old favorite boys invasion had got up, certainly plenty atmosphere on course and some very competitive finishes, roll on reefton, unfortunately for me work calls.
  18. Looks like these fields a little better for their meeting on Friday, certainly the turnover won't be as good as boxing day.
  19. Given the events of recent days, looks like many other regions maybe on the ways out to, as I stated not just coast with flooding issues.
  20. Lionel Dobbs has a couple of harness horses, and a couple handy gallopers.

Unfortunately we live in a world, where speaking up and challenging the system is not wanted, and those that do are stepped on, or are pedaling misinformation, we are just supposed to be model citizens who follow the powers that be without question, sick world we live in, I'm afraid.
  22. Zed in his early stud career must not have left many winners or no one patronized him, as he was posted to a hack station down south, to serve station mares, no sure how long he was there for but made a come back when the winners came along, he was a along side st reims who was also on the same station, and think st reims is buried there.

Seem they don't want the small successful clubs where the turnovers are good and the big crowds have a great old day, they rather their boring metropolitan meetings where hardly an buggar attends and the atmosphere is lacking, just crazy, there that dumb.
  24. Be to much for an old fella like me, could give me a hard attack, or worse a stroke.
  25. Adds a bit of spice to a days racing, a friend invited me to a nudist camp for a weekend, I replied I can't go, I've got something on.
