I think Leo Molloy is one of the biggest wasted talents in NZ Racing What gets me is not the fact he gave training away, why he took it up in the first place are you telling me a person of his intelligence didn’t realise that the stake money in NZ he won would barely cover costs. His hugely anti Australian approach has denied himself the opportunity to train in Australia and earn himself and others an absolute fortune He used to take on broken down thoroughbreds and turn them into winners He had the intelligence and ability to really make his mark as a trainer in Aus if he so desired I have no doubt he could have won some of the big group 1s in Aus He could still support NZ racing by aiming certain horses at certain races Karaka millions for one Unfortunately he had his finger in too many pies and at his age now the opportunity has passed him by As for Feelar I wouldn’t write him off he could be a genuine Sydney Cup chance in The Autumn but he would need to be transferred to someone like Waller this won’t happen as Leo knows absolutely everything One thing we all know and one thing that is certain Leo’s calling in life is to belittle people who he will tell you deserves it When it comes to belittling Leo is CHAMPION when it comes to saddling up champions the words wasted talent wil come to mind
