  1. No worries, Harwewood. I still believe it will have no effect on New Zealand or New Zealanders travelling overseas. While we see this as a very 'New Zealand' event, in the big picture of things it is just an attack carried out by individuals, lead by an Australian, no less. The NZ Government is not seen as an aggressor in the world so I cannot see how or why New Zealanders would need to be targeted.
  2. Wyndham can produce some lightning times. Get a nice day and an aggressive race and its all on time wise.
  3. Good point but I am sure the police will have sound reason for letting him go.
  4. I was talking about what goes on in New Zealand. The hypocrisy of what Mugabe does without attention is astounding. Nobody really cares when it happens anywhere else. If yesterday's attack happened in the USA we would take notice for a day or two. If it happened in Africa we wouldn't even blink. Such is the way of the World.
  5. Good lad. Shame he couldn't help more.
  6. I disagree. I don't see how there will be a reprisal attack. By whom? Against whom? For what reason? These lunatics were individuals not affiliated with any organisation so I don't think any Muslim person in NZ would go and attack someone or somewhere. You are more likely to get a copy cat nutter trying to off some innocent people before they take their own sad life.
  7. In time, after the horror of yesterday has somewhat settled, I see this as an opportunity for NZ to decide on what we want to be as a society. Much in the same way the 81 Springbok Tour made the country reflect and grow up to a large degree. Maybe, if anything good could come out of yesterday it could be that. Just a thought.
  8. ISIS could finally have a good use. Don't give them an open trial to voice their pathetic views. Make it closed I say. No need to make the lunatics a magnet for copycats.
  9. Basil, if you read between the lines of what Brodie writes I don't think he is showing his true colours at all. The Brodster has clearly stated his disgust about yesterday. It is just the word choice and his angle of approach which confuses the message being conveyed. Certainly, the levels of immigration into some countries has caused disruption and angst among people. But you can hardly argue NZ is swamped by immigrants so why these demented souls carried out yesterday's attack is baffling. And who shoots children? They have no argument for what they did.
  10. With respect, I don't think multiculturalism is the correct word to use. Multiculturalism is enlivening to a society. However, when people lose their tradition, culture and identity due to factors like globalisation which can promote economic and social disruption to a society it breeds intolerance. Hence, I think intolerance is a better word to use.
  11. So it will be interesting to see if these terrorists today are Christian terrorists? You need to drop the Muslim bit. No religion promotes violence it is just the radical losers who hijack the peaceful religions of billions of others for their own self serving needs. Just scum, the only thing they represent is their own fucked up little selves no matter what part of the planet they come from.
  12. Nah, the guy and his buddies are just total fucking losers. Same for any radicals who commit terrorist acts on innocent people.
  13. What on earth do you mean Brodie? I cannot fathom what this means. ?
  14. With the number of deaths (from the first video alone) it is going to be as the Prime Minister said, one of the darkest days in NZ history. No one needs to put the video up as the Chief says.
  15. Christchurch doesn't deserve this.
  16. Couldn't agree more, DR.
  17. I feel angry. The perpetrator should never see the light of day again and it shouldn't be in this country either.
  18. Bad, bad news isn't it. So many dead.
  19. Not sure what word to use to describe his performances now as I used to back him early on when he had a few wins and was on the up. Liked him quite a bit. He was definitely up against it when he raced horses like Lazarus, Have Faith In Me and Titan Banner but now to see him battling around Manawatu is somewhat depressing. I suppose depressing is the word I was looking for. Hard to see horses fall from grace like this but I know it is not uncommon.

  20. Feels like a D to me. It is a maze. I am not sure I will ever get used to it.
  21. So who can help me out here? Does anybody have a winner? Seems like a very generous offer by the TAB to small punters.
  22. An old topic but it stands out tomorrow night - The money up for grabs tomorrow is very good, far better than what Addington offers. I can only imagine a steady stream of southern horses going north in the near future and it will be the short term saviour of harness racing in Auckland. That is good as it was dead otherwise.
  23. Better than sleeping pills.
  24. Thought it might have gone better. Soundly beaten but I got my money back so no damage done.
  25. The tea plantation may well be yours after tomorrow if it comes in.
