I think it is Globe driving it...

Love this photo. Looked like he loved to run. No wonder he was the first to break two minutes for the mile in Oz. Crazy to think his owners turned down $100 000 for him in the mid 70s. That is huge money! Wouldn't it be amazing to assemble a field of trotters or pacers from all eras in a mythical race against each other. Now that would be a true Miracle Mile.

...seemingly Greg O'Connor according to the TAB. Beating out his mate Mark McNamara. Cancel the trial form and video analyzing fellas....just tune into the dynamic duo on channel 62 a few minutes before each race. ?
-
Better question to ask is why can't he? Bollocks to tweet stuff like that as a reporter. Would be better to hold off and then spill it out once the decision is out. But I suppose someone will know what he is on about as it is bound to be spreading in the racing community.

Gosh your good.

It just came into 8.50. Crikey, I didn't put that much on it. The TAB are like feathers in a gentle breeze....blown over by nothing...

Magical Melissa in Race 4. A few starts back was held up over final stages at the Mot behind Annamajor. Ran a slashing second to Matai Minky at Ranigora on January 2nd, have a look at the video. In between these races it broke at Rangiora and ran a very sound race at Addington behind Tiebreaker and some other handy horses. It is at 10ff and 3.20ff in a very average field. Over the odds. I am on. Good bet if she lands in even the back half of the field. Hope she will make my Tuesday a happy one. ?

Cool Charm Girl. Ankorman. Kincaid. Nooky Bear. Twinkle John. And one of my favourites of all time...Defoe

We both made the mistake of saying Captain Cavalla and Trident separately. Those two went together.

Jesse Duke, Jack Cade, Race Ruler, Tigerish, Julie Vance, Dillon Dean, Trident. Pic Me Pockets, Gina Rosa, Michelle Bromac... To name a few of my favourites. I think I like horse names with real names!
-
I remember a long time being inspired by a horse called 'Girl Called Destiny' It is just these days I don't see any real cool names. A lot just don't resonate as the imagination is lacking. I think the All Stars name their horses well. Always liked the names Cool Hand Luke and Young Rufus. Personally, I used to like Mr Bojangles as a name and horse so I would love to name a horse Sammy Dee Junior. After the legend himself. Does anybody have any favourite names of yesteryear or maybe what they would like to call a horse in the future? Sadly, I will never get the chance.

But is it a sad state of affairs as TU says?
-
such is life but it makes it more exciting trying to be first to the finish line.

Balraj in Race 3....winning drive guaranteed lol.

Well identified, Taku. A ten point spread in a banding that should have the strongest rating depth in harness.... how scary is this? And the irony of this weak field is the stake is 14 500 which is great for a horse like Xmas Bay and its owners. However, that is what the open class pacers race for in September and October. Best deal in harness is to snag a good horse, get a few wins at Alexandra Park and then on sell for good money. Are either of these things good?
-
Correct. They were going at a pace that you would expect 50 or so metres after the start. Crazy.

I thought the race was going to be called off after a few hundred metres when I saw the clerk of the course wave them off. To my surprise they kept going. Then I read this below. They blame the clerk of the course and the club? Remembering the incident at Cromwell at New Year when they literally had a kid as clerk of the course I find it incredible that such responsibility would have been placed in the hands of a youngster if required. I still can't work out why the drivers didn't stop. Such is the amateur state of the game at times. Stewards ordered this race to be stopped after the field had raced 200 metres due to DREAM OF PAT running driverless on the track. Due to a communication error between the Clerk of the Course and the Drivers, this order was not relayed in an effective manner with the field continuing to race. The all clear was delayed until such time as the Stewards were able to view all available replays, firstly of the start, to ensure no runner had been denied a fair start and secondly, to speak to all drivers and ascertain that no horse had been disadvantaged due to the communication error. After speaking with all drivers Stewards were satisfied that no horse had been denied a fair start and that no horse's chances had been materially prejudiced due to the continuation of the race with the all clear duly authorised. Stewards spoke with the Club's President Mr D Heffernan and the Clerk of the Course Mr W Phiskie in relation to the procedure he is expected to follow when instructed to stop a race in future.

Race 1, Kash Valley at FF5.50 and FF 1.90 You would think it would run a place so in my view it is a free hit at the 5.50 for the win.

Can you answer why you feel compelled to call Brodie, Wayne? Please.
-
NZ Cup winning trainer 2019. I will take that. Nothing like beating those All Stars on Cup Day lol.
-
Really? I got no fricking clue apart from about 2 or 3 who chose to say.
-
I am not asking your name. I am asking what gives you the right to call someone out using their first name? It is your choice to use your first name but not to use it with others. Your mate from racecafe, FTM, would agree with that.
-
Did you read what I wrote?
-
Which one are you really? Didn't you call Brodie by the name of Wayne, recently on here? My memory is hazy. You have history if you are doing that, especially on here. If you read the 99% of comments on the AS domination they are clarified by the respect for their professionalism and success. It is not being anti as such, it is just the perceived underlying issues it is causing. None different to the rah rah clan who think it is the best thing since sliced bread that they win the majority of the money on offer in big races.
