Even the authorities are not that stupid. Part of the equation of moving to Addington would be the acceptance that it would be over 1950. If a favourite drew 2 the race is a formality. If a favourite drew 10 then it isn't winning. Everybody will be wasting their time over a mile at Addington.

You would think they would have contingency plans for this sort of thing, wouldn't you?

I was going to ask if anyone knew of horses starting today who liked swimming in the pool because track conditions would have been similar. North Island horses would have gone good today at Vegas ?

Not unusual. Forbury last year (?) when south Dunedin was under water. Banks Peninsula was cancelled once recently too wasn't it? Wasn't there another in the North Island in January? It happens, just not as much as our galloping cousins. We are lucky really. Although we may just be a wee bit tougher and harder than our cousins...

How have people found this new format from the TAB? Does having the odds changes shown help or hinder your punting? Do you trust it! Movements of 25 or 50 cents seem strange as some have suggested odds are slashed with just a little money put on. Why are odds movements shown in RED then on other races the odds have moved but not shown in RED? I thought scratchings played a part but, for example, Race 10 at Vegas today there are no scratchings but odds have moved. Can anyone explain the ins and outs of this new format?

Brosnan had a long and at many stages a distinguished training and driving career. If he is off to Australia then it is a loss of an iconic person in NZ harness racing in my mind. My age showing again ? Always enjoyed Frangelico and Lord Kara racing who were slightly more unknown than his very best. (hope this site and you boys can restore my faith in harness racing. The other one made me lose all interest it was that bad. I'm keen to offer up some tips but it will take me time to get back in the swing of things....Forbury claiming series can't be far away lol.
