In among all of this crap, can I ask how the punters of Mama Knows Best feel? If the stipes are going to make such a singular decision based on the 'advantage' rule for one runner then surely one must take into account the 'disadvantage' consequences for other runners. Why is it about one runner when the horse running off affected definitely one, if not two runners at their disadvantage? It just doesn't seem to matter anymore does it.

With Jeremy Wells on track tonight it will be interesting to see if it gets a mention on TV.

It defies logic that it didn't get put straight out. Then add in the fact it won by such a short margin! The whole system is a farce. The rules in general are ridiculous. You can't get put out unless you near enough commit murder on the racetrack. The rules seem to be based around getting the quickest result so the races run on time. The only rules they are interested in are horses breaking for too long and excessive use. And of course minor horsemen or amateurs who will be gallowed for sneezing. When did the rule change anyway? They used to go about horses going under the marker pegs so who was responsible for the change and WHY! This is the biggest crock of shit I have seen for a long time.

Sad. Will it make the news tomorrow? Time for harness to be in the spotlight?

Hard to work out. So the rule is the horse must gain an advantage they say. My question is how a horse leading can go inside the track and then come back onto the track and push its way into the trail? Mama Knows Best was in the trail and then after Mr Yips comes back onto the track it is sitting parked! What a load of shit.

When you look at his racing career he ran the times as he held numerous records. He won by margins that suggest nothing of his crop were remotely near him. And that he wasn't always pushed to go even faster. However, he never performed in the open class ranks so he will have to be pigeon holed as one of the best aged grouped pacers of all time rather than an out and out great. But then again who am I to decide aged group racing is of lesser importance than the likes of the NZ Cup. And CUF had personality and a following far more than some 'great' horses so he is an intriguing case for debate.
