Lets look at the history of this.....Newmarket RC instigates a crack at Brodie from nothing and then the ethereal JJ Flash posts this shit below. Then I purposefully set them up over Globe's comments pretty innocent comments and this is said Newmarket RC Fartoomuch Well, They claimed initially Brodie was an easy person to wind up and they had succeeded in their mission. I will state 3 things. 1. Globe is a great contributor and exceptionally balanced so I would listen with intent to whatever he says and in fact say he is far wiser than me. For someone to say he is a grumpy old shit is farcical (unless his wife starts posting lol) 2. Brodie, is Brodie, and that is a really good thing. 3. I succeeded in what I was trying to do. Payback they say is a bitch, but in this case it is childish but very sweet. And ask 2 questions. 1. Who would fall for their own wind up? 2. His horses have been going pretty good recently. Seems to have taken in a few cast offs and done well with them.

Betting at Forbury is fun. There are occasional mismatches and form is not usually clear so takes a bit of study which most can't be bothered with. Track is good and watching is exciting in person. The facilities at Forbury at marginal. Stands are rooted. Bar inside is ok but not large as it is open during other times I believe. If they had some money they could fix the areas of asphalt which are wrecked and create a better place to watch. All blue sky thinking though, as lets face it, harness racing at night is made for TV so no one sitting at home gives two hoots about me standing in the freezing cold on shitty stones in the middle of winter

Basil, you are correct in what you say. But put it this way. When I see the nominations or fields come out and I see a Purdon horse in the race 95% of the time I will simply skip that race as a betting proposition as I know they will mostly win and even if they don't it is not worth betting into it. Is that a valid comparison? Not sure. But I know if I were a owner in in group races or higher assessed races I would feel the same. Can I win? Can I as an owner make money off my really good horse? Answer is probably no. Are the majority of harness racing owners meant to be paupers while a few become fat cats? However, the only way a Joe Average can make money is to sell. As flag points out. The trotting ranks seem so strong in the country at the moment. Why is that?

Ok..... The difference being? Personally, the difference for me is the superior ability to extract the most out of a horse.

When I saw Vinnie shift out and knock Ultimate over I thought junior Hope will be in trouble for that (and here I was last week talking up his family and him up ?) and he will get put out for it but then I thought Ultimate was not going to beat Vinnie so no chance . Then it crossed my mind that Richie had backed Vinnie and he probably has the RIU in his back pocket so another reason why Vinnie won't be put out although Richie could be named in the next court proceedings... as he seemingly just wins too often for his good... Then I see Ultimate Desire's driver gets suspended.... I thought I had seen it all after this but now with further review I realise I know absolutely nothing....

Good point but they aren't, Basil. If they were distributed across different stable then people would feel they have a chance of winning the big races. The perception and feeling is if you are not in the All Stars juggernaut you are not going to win

But if you don't have the skill then you simply can't. Add in the most important ingredient which is good horse flesh then it is not possible to up your game to such an elite athlete which is the All Stars. It is like the 100th ranked tennis player taking on Roger Federer. It just isn't going to happen.

Regardless of the current situation it is a great effort to get to 1000 driving wins. I heard Mark Mc say the 25th driver to get there. That is not that many is it. Here is the list.
