It is a shame they can't open the car park area to the public and not let anyone into the admin / stables area. That would keep the public away from the horsemen etc etc. I just compare it to the skiing that is going on and I struggle to see how people can't go the races. God, they are hardly packed in like sardines.

Mr DeFilippi’s driving record spans many thousands of drives and is closing in on 50 years as a premier driver without a breach of this rule, which we consider a mitigating factor. The Committee is convinced that Mr DeFilippi’s actions were not sinister or premeditated but rather a spur of the moment, split second decision and consider there were no aggravating factors to uplift the penalty. They are almost apologetic in the report.

However, he made an error of judgement that unraveled unfortunately. What I cannot understand is how people come on here and defend it with nonsensical arguments. As Whippy says, if someone like the All Stars did something like this they would be butchered alive.

That has no relevance. Explain how that makes any difference to the driver's actions in a race.

In an even kind of race, Race 8 presents Westburn Bliss as my answer to that question at 13ff and 3.90ff Ran a really good 2.4L 4th against 2 All Stars in Beyond Words and What's Your Secret. Beat home subsequent winner in Off N Gone. Next start at Kurow was a mess with an uncharacteristic break and then got cleaned out round the first bend and was forced wide and ended up a long last but ran on very well to be only 3.4L from the winner. John Morrison is on and he knows the horse. Usually a a good starter so she may get a cushy run. On paper it is quite an even race but 13s is very backable.
