Asked by Stu Bailey on Twitter. There are two lines of answers to the question. One, which is shown by the limited answer to the question...I lose so I can get big bets on! The other is how to explain the injustice of people not being able to get 2 cents on when a fancy syndicate gets lots on.

Lower grades horses are nowhere near as good as they have been and they had a bit of bad luck. The last few years have been exceptional and even for the All Stars it is hard to keep doing year after year. They still won some big races! The utter domination can be replaced by near total domination.

Going by the results of the week one would say The Fixer was the most overrated and the Spankem bubble burst good and proper. It is horse racing after all and even Raphoe didn't win every race it started in.?

I think he has the ability of the others. Especially from mobiles. I have backed him at 13s in the inter Dom's if I recall. Did it awhile ago. Dare I say it, I said on here he should go to UR for stands after his methven win just to step away. Probably reduced his chances of winning the cup by a bit though. Spankem and the fixer didn't live up to their billings, maybe the same way chase did in the lead up, doesn't mean they are no good, just means they are all similar and rely on a good run to win. Classy B up there with them too. The Dunns have sorted him out.

Sometimes the carrot with a trotter is that it will suddenly find its manners and win everything. Matua Tana would be very good if it trotted. You only have to look at Sundee's Son, brilliant when trotting, but at the moment, it wouldn't win a R40 trot race because it simply can't get around. I keep backing Awesome Impee but trying to find 'the' day for it is near impossible. I am a glutton for punishment...

Your faith is admirable but misplaced. If you gave powers of discretion to TAB staff then there would be no point in having the system in place full stop.
