Addington does very well in keeping the dogs off the running rail, the ONE thing I have been compiling data on. Anything other than that Chief is pie in the sky stuff stored somewhere in your mind, unless of course you have data that reflects differently, which I'd happily compare with mine. 4th quarter. Year to date.

Alison, I'm truly sorry this has happened today. Doesn't seem that Addington's track surface is all sorted out to me. Someone made the call to open it back up, I wonder who?

Kieran McAnulty said before a decision was going to be made about greyhound racing was made, it would wait until after the election, which has now passed. Since Labour has been voted out, will he undertake the actions necessary to enact his decision one way or the other, or do nothing at all and let National take over the course of ultimate action? It's not like Labour not to act if there may be what they believe are brownie points involved in it.

Well Chief, the past is what got things to where they are today. Australia's scandal was far worse & they came out far better. Coincidence? Actions, or lack of them can sometimes have consequences.

Useless has chimed in. https://www.grnz.co.nz/News/3115/Note-from-GRNZ-CEO-Edward-Rennell-13-October-2023 You're right Chief, many people have or had a pet dog. Many have had a pet rabbit as well. Maybe if justice was served on the less than a handful of people implicated by these images by the RIU/JCA back then, instead of ignoring it & letting it all funnel to the Crown system only to be dropped at the last minute, the focus on greyhounds would have been on their racing & not the extremes some people went to in violation of both the rules of the code & laws of the country. This fiasco on TV3 in its many episodes sealed the tone of the entire industry by people who may have always heard & wondered about whether it was happening here. While GRNZ was already under some pressure from the activists at the time, this was the turning point for the general public's view on the sport. If they tackled it head on, took names & served justice where it was due, they could have used it as a positive for the industry. Look what we've done to clean up the few rouge participants. This was quite similar to what happened in Australia. They went hard on the perpetrators & look how well they're going now. I was told by an inside source during that time that an envelope with these & a few more pictures turned up at GRNZ headquarters. Instead of an outrage within headquarters, their main focus was on where the images came from & who took them.

This guy might have something to say about that. One tick could buy the industry 3 more years for GRNZ to finally get their shit together.

Another chapter has begun. https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/non-raceday-inquiry-written-decision-dated-9-october-2023-alysha-waretini/

Same dog twice in one race. Then this one slipped the eyes of the Steward. No surprises to why this then happened. MY IDOL (5) - referred to the Veterinarian at trainers request for a left hind toe laceration with a 7 day incapacitation issued.

Reliable source has informed me that there's no track too big for this guy to work his magic on. He loves racing as well (however for a totally different reason). Maybe NZTR should give him a ring & and another $100K+ a year for his expertise.

Thanks for that Freda. So just what has GRNZ's new superstar (Aussie reject) brought to the table since he began sucking out industry funds? We've seen the Wanganui track return to racing (which was already underway long before he started). We've heard about some progress on the Wanganui straight track construction (which again was already underway) yet still hasn't been delivered, a year behind schedule. We've had Auckland shut down for refurbishment because it was in tatters & some have said he wrecked what was an already bad track with his efforts. Injuries haven't reduced. We've had Cambridge shut down for months to correct a simple lure drive problem which ended with a lure trolley upgrade. Now we're seeing Christchurch being potentially mothballed for three months as Freda suggests. Steel medal awards (running rail contacts) in 2023 thus far.

So just what does it take to be a judge to the codes? We all know Michael Godber & what he might bring to the table. However, most will have never heard of the Chair "Adam Smith". https://nz.linkedin.com/in/adam-smith-11098034 Isn't it interesting that he claims to be NZ's 2nd largest syndicator of racing greyhounds and at the same time is a panelist for the RIB (JCA)? I smell a huge conflict of interests.

Interesting to see the name "Godber" pop up again. So much for retirement... https://racingintegrityboard.org.nz/decisions/waikato-rc-29-september-2023-r7-sam-spratt/

Flash forward a couple of years. It'd be interesting to hear how some of the owners/trainers are thinking now about the Addington surface. https://www.grnz.co.nz/News/3105/Addington-Update-2-October-2023

Northern rails... Same dog twice in the same race. C5 dog - 6th race on the track/distance - PBD race. First time possibly because of pressure. Second time no excuses other than the rail between it & the lure. Full replay.

Seems with what they posted yesterday, GRNZ agrees with what I've highlighted & plan (again) on implementing what they said they were going to undertake 9 years ago. Funny that. https://www.grnz.co.nz/Files/Quarterly Reports/Final GRNZ Quarterly Report 31 July 2023.pdf

You keep asking the same sort of questions, I keep answering them the same way. That's not repetitive, it's consistent, just like all the dogs making contact with the running rail in Auckland.
-
Of course it could. If/when it does, I'll record it as a rail strike. GRNZ dropped the ball and didn't protect the then injured dog from the rail like they claimed they were going to.
-
Dogs that don't make contact with the rail are not injured by it.
-
Hey Top Dog. I see you have a different way of reporting the Auckland races but that doesn't change what's happening on the track. These two dogs should have had a vet check post-race & should have been recorded as contacting the rail in your report.
-
No change in tack for me. My concern was the censored head-on footage of the race. Steward report stated It was a gracilis injury. I only suggested that with the coverup, the rail might have had something to do with it. You can track the injury types & causes if you want to. My mission is to keep then off the rail.
-
So I take it you didn't watch the head-on footage near the end of the replay to watch him go back thru the entire field in the backstretch, a grade he had won in before. That would be the only reasonable explanation for your observations about me.
-
He never won in C5, so yes he reached his level. Races he won in C4 he led them out & went all the way, so he didn't come from off the initial pace. In his final race (#5) he was out first. And after an unimpeded run to the corner was at the back of the pack. Watch the head on footage at the end of the replay.
