According to the transcripts of the case the ref never heard a racist comment which is what the Waihora witnesses said as well. no one is saying what happened at forbury is a good look. It just didn't need to be dragged through mainstream media.

According to the southbridge manager and his daughters they did. i did hear that a southbridge Fijian wing told bronson the whole thing was bullshit. That player no longer plays for southbridge.

I'll add a bit more to that rugby case. The southbridge manager and his 2 daughters were the main witnesses. The ref who was right there and his two assistants all claimed they never heard anything racist. The southbridge manager pulled a genius move and went to his mate in the press and got bronson' name out there before case was heard and unfortunately for bronson the Crfu had to be seen to be doing something about it. I believe there was another incident in club rooms after game where a southbridge player threatened a couple of opposition supporters as well. In many eyes all southbridge did was show themselves off as being poor losers.

While the whole thing was an unsavoury incident it should have been kept in house and appeared in the stripes report with bronson accepting his fine or suspension and learning his lesson from this incident. Why someone would go to the media is beyond me. They must have a pretty big axe to grind and unfortunately for bronson he once again has to face trial by media. If you had bothered too look up his rating record you would realise he was at one stage rated 120 and had dropped a point every start he's had since the points system came in.
