  1. Gee what convinced you that it isn't a conspiracy theory? Was it the 60 law suites that got thrown out because Trumps lawyers turned up at court without any evidence? Or was it the claims of machines flipping votes by Sidney Powell who is being sued for defamation and whose own lawyers are arguing that it wasn't defamation, not because it is true, but that her claims are so outrageous no reasonable person could take them seriously. Or is it that thousands of dead people voted, accept Trumps lawyers could only find 11 cases that they contested and later found out 10 of those people were actually still alive and the 11th case fraudulently voted twice for Trump. Or was it the ballot dumps in the middle of the night. Their star witness was a person who claimed because the truck delivering food to the ballot counters short delivered their meals the rest of the truck must have contained fake ballot papers. When asked if she had seen fake ballots she said no. When asked if she had actually seen the truck she said no. Did any of her co workers see the truck, no Or perhaps it was the pillow guy who displayed a whole lot of numbers and claimed it was proof of fraud, accept nobody at his symposium claimed to understand what they meant and embarrassingly his own experts admitted the figures didn't show any fraud. The only reason some people think the election was stolen was that the guy that lost said it was. Don't worry Brodie, I'm sure you are a fan of the pillow guy and believe Trump will be re instated in 2021
  2. Your post would be more convincing if it didn't come from someone who believed the insane conspiracy theory that Trump won the 2020 election with no evidence at all.
  3. Not sure whose responsibility it is but it hasn't changed in at least 30 years so black type is now meaningless. Most pedigree pages full of black type performers no one would want to own. If you read this Gary Woodham please take note.
  4. You are on to it Karrots. Will have one at trials as soon as they start up again.
  5. I know he sold his mansion but thought he built a new house on his old Tennis court or has he sold that too? Trouble with Hawaii, no harness racing
  6. Don't breed myself, prefer to buy shares in horses from the sales. Always stick to Bettors but would consider a Downbytheseaside at the next sales
  7. Hey Karrots, Great idea. Perhaps they can match broodmare owners who can't afford or don't want to breed with people who want to breed but don't have a mare. The really big money at the sales seems to be largely for Bettors Delights that are nice types out of well performed mares either on the track or as broodmares. If you have a suitable mare in that category by Art Major, Christian Cullen, Mach Three or even American Ideal you would be mad not to breed. If you have a nice Bettors mare I would be going to Downbytheseaside, Captain Crunch, Sweet Lou or Always B Miki in that order.
  8. Update on Miki Now 2nd leading sire of 3year olds in USA. SBSW is leading sire so that makes Miki the leading 3 year old sire standing at stud Currently he has moved from 12th to 9th on list of leading 2 year old sires. Looking at Stats here and in USA the big disappointment is Sunshine Beach. Performing poorly in US despite large crops. He would be close to becoming non commercial I would think. Alabar appear to have dropped him from their offering.
  9. Actually I agree with you there Brodie. I know for a fact Hugo Chavez stole the election for Biden with his voting machines. I know this because he admitted it to me when I was talking to him in Pak n Save Riccarton yesterday. (He was there with Elvis) And all the other fools on here believe he died 7 years ago. Trump is a narcissistic con man who is delusional about the election. He has been scamming Americans who like you can't see through him and they have been responding to donation requests in the millions of dollars to get the result overturned. Except Trump has not spent any money on that, he is just pocketing the money. You are very naive if you can't see that
  10. I remember Niatross racing, I have a vague recollection they may have broadcast the Meadowlands Pace on TV or the radio unless my mind is playing tricks on me. Anyway his first crop of foals were sensational and included a champion in Nihilator and some other very nice stakes horses. He looked like he was going to as successful at stud as he was on the track but with his subsequent crops was unable to repeat his success and his popularity with breeders quickly dried up.
  11. That's got to be worth a chocolate fish
  12. No idea but I'm going to guess Most Happy Fella
  13. I have been thinking about why Bettors is so dominant here but not in the USA. I think the major factor is he crossed so well with Direct Scooter line stallions, first In The Pocket and then Christian Cullen. Though same could not be said for Courage Under Fire. The top Bettors in the states don't seem to have been crossed with that line, maybe because Somebeachsomewhere mares are too young to have much stock racing yet? I would have though he would have had some top horses in the states out of Mach Three mares but it doesn't seem to be the case.
  14. Thanks for that Karrots. Another thing I find interesting is the Trotting Sires in USA. A Stallion called Walner is killing it over there with his oldest crop 2 year olds, well and truly out performing all the big name trotting stallion such as Chapter Seven, Fr Patrick, Muscle Mass etc. He only raced as a 2 year old and early 3 year old (must have gone sore perhaps) but I think he only had one defeat. He won just over $500k, not a lot for a stud stallion. He doesn't appear to be available here despite most of the top ones there and in Europe available by Frozen Semen. His stud fee is us$20k which tells you all you need to know.
  15. That list is based on average earnings of progeny as opposed to total earnings. i think they work it out by dividing total earnings of the stallion by the number of foals it had.
  16. As far as money won goes he was 3rd leading 2 year old sire in 2020 in USA and currently 12th leading sire of 2 year olds this year. (Bettors Delight 14th on the list) His 2 year olds of last season have gone on with it this year as he is 3rd leading sire of 3 year olds currently. Downbytheseaside leading 2 year old sire in USA so he looks great value at $6K. USA results aren't always a good indicator of how a stallion will perform here though. Somebeachsomewhere never got the results here he got in the USA and Bettors Delight is being out performed by a few stallions in the states that just can't compete with him here.
  17. There seems to be some talk of transferring The Dominion to Cup Day. I would be against this. The Dominion deserves its own day where it is the feature on the program and should not play 2nd fiddle to the NZ Cup IMO. Also it would downgrade Show Day. Cup day is great as it is and once it is over it's good to have another great days racing to look forward to on the Friday. I don't think there is any evidence that transferring it would lead to higher betting turnover.

  19. The two biggest issues for me are stakes & handicapping We need to find more revenue both through betting and non betting revenues to increase prize money. 1 - Create more excitement through large jackpots and attract new money by scrapping pick 6 and have a pick nine every week. 2- Clubs should look for non race revenue by utilising assets better i.e renting out facilities for wedding receptions for example. Rating system is improvement on the old system but drop backs need to happen faster so horses can stay competitive
  20. Whether they ask for a race driver or not is irrelevant to your original point that there was not enough work which is clearly not the case. Maybe it's no ones business but it would be rare, given the length of time Tim worked there and the level of success they had, that that sort of news was not reported on as it is of interest to many people.. Generally speaking when a person leaves a high profile position in a planned and amicable way all parties are happy to discuss the situation. Do agree with your point that ultimately it is a win for both parties, Tim in particular.
  21. Given they are currently advertising for a stable foreman the fact they have cut their numbers and there isn't enough work is clearly not true. Interesting that Tim leaving has not been reported on HRNZ website, Harness link or Box Seat. Leads me to think the split was not entirely amicable.
  22. Watched their Harness Jewels preview show this morning and thought it was excellent. Great interviews with Ben Hope, John Morrison & Craig Edmonds. It makes a change from the repetitive interviews with all the usual suspects. Ben & Johns interviews were more like a human interest story which I think we need more of. Well done Matt Cross. It worked in well with the Whales analysis.
  23. Don't forget Roydon Scott. A half to Roydon Glen. He beat Lord Module on numerous occasions. If I remember right his career was cut short by arthritis. Phillipa Frost was another good one
  24. This is exactly why we should still have these jackpots. Pick 6 is a waste of time. How come lotto can have $30m Jackpots and racing doesn't get past a paltry $50k
  25. I suspect you have answered your own question there Brodie. Casino gambling is more in their culture rather than Harness Racing which doesn't exist in Asia. I do agree that it would be a good idea to market our industry to them somehow. I seem to remember the late Derek Jones had some Chinese owners many years ago.
