  1. They say over 21,000 more new zealanders on anti depressants last year. Teenage numbers have doubled in the last decade. Twice as many woman than men on anti depressants.Maori and pacific islanders not being prescribed at the same rate as others, despite being just as likely to have mental health issues. So with all the implementation of policies which lead to a more inclusive, caring society ,how come the mental health numbers keep going up.An obvious question, but one that the left ignores. I think the next election will see a strengthening of the green vote due to more awareness and publicity around environmental issues, which of course will help labour form another coalition..
  2. I was just looking up the record of this fella hayden barnes. I see hes been dealt with at least 4 times for not driving to give his horse every opportunity. They only seem to suspend him up to 6 weeks. The stipes didn't even give his drive yesterday a mention. No wonder he thinks he can get away with it. One thing i did find was an article written by duane ranger on the 2 barnes brothers.I had wondered where duane ranger got to,seems he may be in queensland.
  3. Alta orlando and Our overnovaover have certainly been wonderful horses. The commentator said it was our overanova's last race. Won over 60 races i see. As for smokin bye, well he got the perfect run and got up to beat a field with 5 ex nz horses. All which were about 3 win horses over here. At least he has got some form, but the aussies that bought him originally and lost big time didn't really do their homework when buying an ex kerr trained horse.
  4. I see the media is falling over themselves looking for new superlatives to describe the decision of the two high jumpers to share the gold medal and not complete the competition because they didn't want to only have 1 winner. Its just another example of virtual signalling being rammed down peoples throats by the media who think attitudes need changed, and they are the moral superiors who somehow can the lead way.. Would all those in the media say the same if the top 2 soccer teams opt not have a penalty shootout if the scores are tied after extra time in the olympic final,or the mens 7's pulled the pin at half time in the final if the scores were tied,or the next cricket world cup and so on. Because if its so wonderful, amazing, heart warming as i heard from the media today, then surely they want more of it and that is what they should be calling for.
  5. Don't you love the Jamaican girls colored hair to go with their flag.Wonder if they can get the trifecta in the 200m. Personally i also like seeing a lot of the sports that don't normally get much coverage.Things like the rugby 7's personally doesn't excite me. I would rather watch diving, gymnastics, track and field and the like. I do think its was a sign of the times when the sports commentators were falling over themselves to compliment simone biles on her "wonderful choice" to make the decision and withdraw from the gymnastics.
  6. I cancelled my sky olympic package when i saw the nz women soccer team take a knee in their first game, and the head of the nz team come and and say it was a good thing, which he fully supported. Can't be bothered when sport becomes about politics.I just tune out. I have watched a lot on our main tv channel, but get put off with their obsession with speaking maori. Its like watching the news, which i no longer watch because of that.I don't think the coverage has been very good anyway on the mainstream tv we have. As for marburg, you don't have to be a fan of marburg racing, but that doesn't mean you can't spot a dishonest drive by watching the video. And no i didn't have a bet on it. I knew to avoid races where the barnes have the better horse.
  7. Well if you didn't notice the barnes team driving at albion park, then you can't have seen the race.As for man of action today. That fella was so desperate not to run anywhere even blind freddy couldn't miss it.Just watch his drive over the last round. I'm guessing he knows someone that has a betfair account. No other way to explain it.
  8. So you haven't answered my question. I take that to mean you agree that the Barnes in queensland are dodgy. They train and drive a lot of ex lincoln farm horses.Go watch the race of Man of action at marburg today. Or go watch the drive about 10 days ago at albion park where the father(i 'm guessing) strangles his horse to allow the favorite driven by his son to get the 1/1 when caught wide, due to kotare elite wanting to keep the breeze. Stipes just "noted his tactics" .Weak as. As i've said there are other examples from the barnes, but i won't list them all.
  9. Surely we all know that.I'm sure you have worked out not to takeretarded seriously. This is the internet is it not. People post things that contradict others points of view, and some post stuff thats viewed as just dumb. But thats how it is,and its not going to change. Nina hope can take in isolation certain posts and become annoyed. Thats up to herwhat she reacts to.i have always said B hope is a top driver of trotters. Drivers go through good and bad patches, and i have in the past made several positive posts about hopes driving and him as a person. I just say what i think.I'm not going to become fake and post what i don't think.
  10. Gammalite what do you think of the driving of Hayden and alistar barnes in queensland. I have recently been doing the videos of all the races over there, and i have seen about 5 questionable drives, and everyone has been from the barnes. Are the stipes not very pro active ?
  11. We'll just have to agree to disagree. If you think that was a thinking drive then thats your opinion. Its not mine.I watched the race several times before my original comment. But you pay the bills. My comments aren't attacking the person, merely his tactics. Do you really care about what i or retarded driver has to say?Retarded is allowed his opinion, but i don't think he's taken too seriously most of the time. Personally I think you over reacted to the comments made on here.
  12. Try emailing the nzctu and ask them.
  13. On one hand you say"its very easy today to detect any anomalies" then in the same paragraph refer to the new york indictments which involves 29 defendants, the bulk of who either used or supplied performance enhancers that were not detected in testing.Maybe you are coming round to my way of thinking. Also you continue to say i believe there is widespread corruption in harness racing when i have never said that. You see they have recently caught those cheating,do you not read the papers?
  14. You complain about certain people in the media giving a one sided view of some recent harness riu cases, yet your guilty of the same thing. You either can't see it,or most likely just ignore it.
  15. So your saying they didn't pre race treat any of their horses that were scratched on the day of the race?Simple yes or no would suffice as an answer.
  16. Well i've actually come up with ideas about that in the past.Just as i have in the past re the training facility issue i posted about earlier today. All these issues are intertwined. Theres a flow on effect from everything. Thing is no one seems to do anything.I believe many that lead the industry are out of touch with those at the grass roots level who have left the industry..There was always going to be a decline, but that decline need not have come at the rate it has.It has applied to both the racing and breeding sides. You actually get tired of talking about it,so i won't add anything more.
  17. So now even the big trainers can't find training facilities. The latest story on hrnz is that Josh dickie is quitting NZ and heading to victoria. Why? Well it seems the main reason is because he can't find any suitable training facilities now the training establishment he was leasing is being sold.Whats that going to do to ATC field size? I've being saying this for years. If HRNZ and clubs like the ATC can't even have a plan to address such an essential for the industry to continue, then its downhill slide will start to spiral out of control. Why has this issue been around for so long without being addressed is beyond me. Are people are so out of touch with reality,or have they just ignored it? The same issue applies in many areas, wheres the plan to stop the decline of training facilities.Or has the horse already bolted.
  18. Hopes driven 40 winners and over half a million in stakes this season. So you can't deny he is very successful. But personally i don't think he's fulfilled his potential that he showed a couple of seasons ago.He may look more tidy in a finish now,but tactically hes not as good in my opinion.I'll give you an example. Last night he's 4 back the fence on rockntommy rulz, following sugar me the hot favorite. Now anyone watching knew sarah o'reilly would have the brains to not get trapped if someone came off the running line with 1200m to go. But that thought seemed to escape Hopes thinking. Instead morrison used his brains and took the spot that was hopes for the taking.Ultimately cost him running 3rd instead of 4th. Its hard to work out his tactics sometimes, and thats why some punters like retarded driver find his driving frustrating. People shouldn't deny their is a reason for that.No point pointing to a win,and ignoring the other drives. Having said that,Hope shouldn't care less what the punters think, just try and drive to the best he can.Not everyone can be blair orange.

  20. I don't wish to go on,but your playing with words. Your saying canterbury as a whole doesn't have the levels that the southern region has,as if that contradicts what i have said. Well i have only ever been referring to the region South Canterbury. I've said it more than once. The South Canterbury region has historically had the highest level of cases per 100,000 people.I don't know what the last couple of years figures are,but thats something thats always been accepted as fact. Its easy enough to confirm it if you google it.Its been widely reported. And people who live in that region in areas which have seen increases in intensive dairying in the last 2 decades have seen increases in their waters nitrate levels. You may be knowlegable on this subject, but have not produced anything that disproves what i have said. You just play with words. thats my last comment on the subject.
  21. We are going in circles again.I don't know what article you refer to,but i know i have been talking the whole way through about same area, which is the area with the reportedly highest rates of bowel cancer in nz,which i believe to be South canterbury.Thats what there DHB says. Thats why the free bowel screening test. I think its time we agree to disagree.
  22. South canterbury, means the southern part of canterbury.Check the map. Its not a southern region as you suggest.
  23. Same old same old. Like i always say, your consistent. I just referred you to an article citing a recent study undertaken by victoria and otago university which specifically refers to the effect farming,in particular intensive dairy farming has had on the nitrate levels in drinking water and how that relates to bowel cancer. Ignore it if you want.
  24. You like rubbishing what i have to say. You often keep your head in the sand. Ignore what the experts say if you wish.Your at odds with what they all say.Doesn't worry me.
  25. No.Canterbury district. I'm no expert, but i have just re read an article earlier this year quoting a study overseen by jayne richards done by victoria and otago universites, concluded 4 decades of intensive farming,in particular the high stocking rates of dairy farming, had exposed between 500,000 to 800,000 new zealanders to water with nitrates at a level that would lead to greater risk of bowel cancer. The study found the drinking water was as much a factor as lack of physical exercise, smoking ,consumption of processed meats, and behind just obesity and heavy drinking as factors. It said the problem was getting worse.
