Totally disagree. For once i agree with the VI, no punters,no racing unless they want to race around hagley park for a nice red ribbon. Prey tell where did you get that figure from , for every 100 dollars spent by owners they get around 20 dollars from the punter?..

I understand your reply freda to this topic,but even if the starting gate boys are employed by the NZTR and not the clubs you will probaly still have the same guys working on the barriers. It is a very hard job and only so many people can do and are suitable to this particular job.

Best of luck to all the connections and for having a go. Not too many kiwis get the oppurtunity to go and watch the ascot races let alone have a runner. It would be the trip of a lifetime and really as Michael has said,not that much in the way of expenses as mostly covered, so nothing to lose.
