Pride of Jenni back in work after nose bleeding.
SLB2.0 replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Interesting, to say the least. However, I won't tell a trainer as good as Maher that he shouldn't keep her from racing. He's clearly happy with her soundness, but then you get people like Scoobysnacks, who has no idea what it's like to train a champion, throwing insults around to some of the best trainers in the industry, like Maher, the owners, and even Graeme Rogerson. He seems to think that no one else can bag a trainer or jockey except him. Hypocrite. -
I understand former jockeys not knowing anything beyond Year 10 English, but media "personalities" have no excuse.
-
"Preformance" and "For mine" can be included.
-
Tab For Ever making their own definitions - what a trailblazer of the English language.
-
No - not the winner earlier at Te Rapa, but the use of the word. Trackside presenters.... please! Look up the definition of the word and stop using it! I have heard it six times today and we're only halfway through the card. Yes, there are bigger issues in the world, but it's basic English, and apparently, no producer has told them otherwise.
-
It's very stupid. Te Rapa is Soft 5 atm, and it's dry as a bone in the Waikato. Why can't we race on a good 4? And yes, the track will get upgraded to a Good 4 after the first, which again, applies stupidity.

He reminds me of Winona Costin. A natural light rider but lacks professionalism. She was dropped by Waterhouse pretty quickly, and she hasn't really recovered. I can't imagine Pinn lasts too long with Te Akau unless it's down south. Hopefully, though, that doesn't happen and he proves me wrong. As you said, he's still a kid.

Canterbury Jockey Club locks in Domain Ace for its Kiwi B Slot
SLB2.0 replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
On that basis, a horse that finished 20 lengths from the winner in the Guineas could be their slot pick. It's a stupid strategy, and they've found that out first time of trying. -
I don't want to harp on about this, but Pinn's ride on Trobriand is why I don't rate him. Every single winner, up until this ride, drew the inside barrier. So what does he do? He gives up the lead and fence to the favourite who duly wins, like they typically do from in front at Tauranga. Surely, given the pattern of today, under no circumstances can he give up the rail and the lead, especially when the favourite didn't have to work all that hard for it. Tactically, he's just not all there.

How embarrassing to have a horse like Domain Ace in the race. It just got absolutely pumped at Tauranga. -
Yeah, he hasn't tried to derail my career with falsehoods for quite some time. I commented on one of his Twitter posts and he blocked me, so all is well. I doubt he has mellowed out. I think his short-lived political career forced him delete absolutely everything, and if he ever wants to get back into politics, sending hitmen to random internet posters' houses and picking fights with kids probably isn't the way to get elected. I have continually asked him if he wants a boxing match for charity, given that he's such a charitable man, whether by choice or enforced by the courts, but he declines every time. I guess those photos of him alongside Joseph Parker are just a photo-op.

It's a good thing the Oaks is run at Trentham. Still banned from Ellerslie, I'm guessing?
-
Can GS stop using it? It makes absolutely no sense.
-
30 years ago, maybe. Now, the poor horse would have to be put down carrying that much weight.
-
Of course, every jockey gets it wrong from time to time. And saying it's because they ride different quality of horses is akin to saying Lewis Hamilton was only a good driver because he was in the fastest car. Whilst it's true, he was in the fastest car because he was the best driver. McDonald rides the best because he's the best.

Some jockeys have good tactical minds (JMac) and some don't (Pinn)

Question: Does anyone use the app or get tips on their social media? If so - do they still produce Australian tips? I allowed them to use my website tips for a week in 2020 and then all I got is radio silence via email, but I never bothered to check if they were still publishing my tips. I doubt they're still copying and pasting them, but doesn't hurt to ask!
-
It was knocked off balance by horses inside and out - nothing to do with the surface of the track.
-
You can't be serious TB...
-
Australian meetings (at least at decent venues) only ever get abandoned due to horrendous weather. There is never a horse slipping, but it feels like a weekly occurrence here. Pathetic.
-
Another meeting bites the dust What should we set the over/under for total meetings abandoned this year?

Your bonus offers are purely dependent on your win/loss for that month. If you're winning, expect less. If you're losing, expect more. It's not hard to figure out why they do this. Is it moral? No, but there has to be some responsibility on the player to realise he's losing, no matter how many bonus back races or how many deposit bonuses they receive. In terms of problem gambling, offering a deposit bonus isn't good. If you're trying to stay away from the punt, but get offered a 100% or 200% depo bonus, that's almost impossible to turn down. It's why gambling affiliates have struggled in the last five years (in Australia) because they can no longer advertise "sign up to sportsbet for a $500 deposit bonus match". And I'm still shocked the NZ TAB (now Entain) doesn't use an affiliate marketing model, especially considering Ladbrokes and their other offshore bookmakers do.
-
Bookmaker deposit bonuses are always a good laugh I would get offered a 100% depo match up to $1000 with Australian bookies every month. However, if you have a winning month, you can expect absolutely nothing the following month. They know what they're doing, and they know deposit matches will likely end in you losing your month - both the deposit and the bonus bets. It's why advertising sign-up bonuses in Australia is illegal. It's a bit like roaming the streets and asking people if they want a quick taste of some cocaine, before ultimately selling them a bag.

They fall off easily because their feet (usually only toes) are barely in the irons. That's the price they pay.

We all know the times at Trentham are way off, and we've known that since Seachange ran 29 seconds for 1000m (that's obviously a joke, but you get the point). However, the thing that turned me off on Sat was the commentator trying to rev up the bored crowd as the Cup field came past the winning post. This isn't a yearly event for any of those patrons, it's not the Wellington Cup of old, and hearing a commentator mid-race, trying to get some noise, was cringeworthy.
