  1. The joys of social media with all the morons contributing ...........
  2. The point is that there are sprinters -milers- middle distance and stayers -not about M B being proficient at various categories, There should be a section for each though I know there are now very few staying races.
  3. You have probably heard of Moira winning a Cox Plate The last time I was at Isola [30-40 years ago] they had an excellent indoor arena
  4. Moving to WFA is a very good change. SW&P WAS PLAIN STUPID
  5. Interesting that the AJC state 'per calendar year' Where does that leave the shuttlers?
  6. The American Jockey Club is going to limit stallion bookings to 140 mares per year -this will probably result in all sorts of 'restriction of trade' cases as most of the expensive stallions serve 220-240. With case history allowing unlimited Standardbred covers and AI there could be a few threats floating around.
  7. What a load of rubbish . The horse was quoted at $18 with the bookies- that suggests all at a higher quote should not have got a start Rogerson has been a leading trainer , not just in Australasia but Northern hemisphere as well, winning races like the Cox plate, Melbourne cup etc I don't really rate the horse but they are entitled to race it where and when they like.It had no show when ridden ;upside down'.
  8. There are some hard markers in this thread. Have they ever raced horses? The guy gave an honest opinion and was wrong -it happens-most interviewed are busy talking up their chances and most of them are wrong.
  9. She had very good 2yo form and had run a close second over a distance short of her best at her previous start. On that basis you can make a case for her attempting the race. Obviously it was wrong to alter her racing pattern but some people believe that with a light weight you can go to the front and run a field off their legs -if that is what you hope to do the last thing you want is the opposition knowing your tactics [sorry Thomas] To suggest competing and getting beaten breaks her heart or causes her to lose confidence is rubbish -she has been beaten in every race she has contested . Did she turn to Endless Drama and say 'my heart is broken but yours must be truly f###ed'
  10. In the last four years there have been over 100 Australian charged under doping rules -how many in NZ ? Is NZ stakemoney so low it is not worth the risk ?
  11. I find him quite readable and this site appears to keep going because of him [or is it her ?]
  12. Females get an allowance in France
  13. Fred

    D I C ?

There must be hundreds of precedents not tested -the Northern lads could be very busy if they start testing.
  14. Interesting case of stablemates being wrongly saddled -more to come on Saturday
  15. They called for licence renewals back in May -seems they can never deliver on time, last year mine turned up in September, I wonder when this seasons one will arrive ?

  16. Three times I have travelled to the TAB to be 'validated' -oops, they still have no forms......
  17. Under the WFA scale NZTR gives them up to 10.5 kgs or 12.5 kgs for fillies.
  18. Ridiculous ?? If you do the basic homework suggested then you may well alter your opinion. It is hard to argue with facts and the WFA scale with sex allowances has been proven world wide for yonks. Females are generally the weaker sex -that's why they have separate events at the Olympics etc
  19. Fillies and mares get a 2kg allowance in all WFA.-and that is as it should be. Those who rant on about the female allowance need to face facts. Before commenting they should view the statistics provided by the annual stallion register. These list the results of each sex separately , the number of runners, number of wins, prizemoney. -.It will roughly show that females average 1.5 wins and males 2.5. and with a correspondingly increase in stakes won.
  20. Not the same everywhere Freda -The fly blown lot altered theirs when their souped up 3yos were winning too many. Pathetic little cousin yelled me too and followed suit.
  21. Finally made it to town and TAB today and they had run out of forms. In this day and age surely they could print some out !
  22. It is the school holidays so no Thomas -he will be back when he resumes his janitorial role.
  23. Beyond my ken -send me your email and I will forward
  24. NZTR recently sent owners an email detailing how they are addressing horse welfare matters -tracks, rails, ambulances, vetting, drug testing etc etc But no mention of whip use -surely in this day and age it is disgusting to see jockeys bashing the living daylights out of a poor defenceless animal ? As Monty Roberts said "Why should you punish them to make them do what they are supposed to LOVE doing ?" NZTR of course encourage whip use by ruling how many times and how often the bash can be given -doubtless they will say they are restricting whip use but the reality is different. Their consent comes with the guidelines they issue. If your burgling partner shoots somebody you are equally guilty. They even beam it into living rooms around the country -look kiddies, look at that person smacking the poor horsey. Smacking of children is not allowed -why should smacking of horses be encouraged.
  25. Have I got this right? you exclude all that are not carrying their handicapped weight then conclude that the remainder are carrying their handicapped weight. How could it be otherwise?
