    Despite all his detractors you have to accept that Winston Peters has delivered for TB Racing and his main donors(Breeders)like no other racing minister in living memory. This is another 'plum' for the few at the expense of the 'squeezed middle'/battlers in...racing.😃

    '“He’s got about as much chance of winning as a bed salesman selling a double bed to the Pope”. This is a good example of what I regard as a commentator trying too hard to be ..clever. Unnecessary and detracted from his calls. Taking legal advice when your time is called is a common malaise...these days.

    I recall relentless team driving by the Purdons. They would have 3 in the race-Wolfenden,Barry and Herlihy....Front runners like Capt Harcourt or the Bru Czar would be taken on and a Purdon runner with a cosy sit would get the last crack. Sole Command comes to mind...a good pacer but beat some much better(usually by a neck)with a soft journey.
