  8. I think 30 years ago we used sell it for $8 locally and $17 in North Island. Cost about $2 bag transport costs
  9. What's chaff and oats worth. We used to sell chaff and oats from Ashburton to Auckland for just over half price of what they could buy for up north. That was 30years ago so might have changed now but feed was very dear up there
  10. I think Gerard O'Reilly won his first race at Motukarara.Must have been about 1982 I think as I had just left school .I remember it because Dad made a small fortune off it.Pretty sure it was trained by his Dad
  11. Hes a racing man from a racing family .He used to be a TAB odds setter.
  12. I see now they have SP(Starting price) odds.Which means you get the odds at the time race starts..This means the bookies dont actually have to set a price they basically let the early punters do it for them and then set a Price dependent on where the early money is going
  13. I got a nice chunk.of quaddie Thanks Sarah.Shes been on fire since I started this thread and today just stepped up again
  14. I agree ,get rid of standing starts. A blight on harness racing and will never attract punters outside the I industry while we have standing starts
  15. I see the very talented Sarah O'Reilly has a big week coming up.No doubt the same for Blair Orange Tuesday at Manawatu Wednesday at Timaru Thursday at Manawatu Friday at Addington Saturday at Wyndham Sunday at Motukarara
  16. Mushroom is my face sauce
  17. Stakes increase is overall turnover is per meeting
  18. Great to see Kaikoura turnover at $2.1m .Harness racing going through a boom period in the South Island with increased stakes up 27% and turnover up an average 25% per meeting from 2 years ago
  19. I'm doing the selecting mate Already taken a multi just for Brodie R4 Always in Faith for Top3 $2.10 R8 Franco Indie for Win $1.90 R11 Self Assured for win $2.40 amazing money $100 to win $957
  20. That's a great story
  21. 15 and still racing.What a legend.

  23. Unfortunately for National John Key has made politics in NZ more like a popularity contest and Jacinda has personality in spades while National has none.We have gone the way.of the USA where personalities are more important than.policy substance, hence Judy's fall from grace.I will be very surprised if she still leader at next election,I think Luxon getting ready to.pounce.I believe Peter Goodfellow, the current National party President, and Alistair Bell the Northern rep on the National party board have caused a lot of division within the party
  24. What media hit job,its pretty well known that some of her colleagues cant bring themselves to fully support her.Ask Mark Mitchell what he thinks of her.
  25. Q⁰unless Judith goes National will have no show at next election.I know 2 financial National supporters that dont support her and have said they may not even vote next election if she still leader. She has no substance to her statements and is more worried about picking on everybodies faults rather than giving ideas and policy.I dont know what region you are in Brodie but where I live in Ashburton businesses are thriving. Our unemployment rate has declined last 6 years to about 1.8%,Crime is down and we have a Labour MP,which is unthinkable for our region.I would say at the moment Labour at $1.30 to win next election.NZ exporters looking good to prosper even more once the world shipping problems get sorted.
