I was at Methven races,went to watch and back 2 horses.A winner and an also ran.We were parked in car park and watched all but one race at the 250m mark and every race you could see most of the field struggling to make any head way.A definite bias at that track now,ever since they shortened straight which has also made the final bend sharper.Was same pattern of racing there 2 weeks ago too

Yep this current crop of younger Drivers,trainers in Cantetbury are a disgrace.Its one thing to be milk shaking,injecting horses and setting them up for a punt but what these guys are doing now is totally imprehensible. A good mate saw a group of them at the galloping cup a couple of years ago and they were acting like thugs and hooligans.One even asked an old lady if she sucks dick.According to my mate who was drinking next to them 3 of them got kicked out by security,with one of them saying to security"Do you know who I am". Apparently they got spoken to by HRNZ management at the time and nothing else was said.

Goes to show that increase in stakes makes no difference,Auckland stakes best in country and yet they struggle to get full fields.

I think Ashburton fastest track followed by Winton,Nelson and Addington.The problem with Nelson is that it has a reputation,rightly or wrongly,of having a leaders bias.Or at least having to be in first 4 turning for home.Addington and Ashburton produce winners from middle of the pack.IMO

I think you over estimate the power of animal activists.When I was a kid we used to follow the rodeo circuit as my uncle used to ride in the 70s when it was first starting out.Even back then there were probably more activists against rodeo than there is now .The key to surviving is to make subtle changes
