    Rock Bottom

    Yes aware of the virus.
  2. Northern Fields this week - 73 at Cambridge tomorrow & 52 at Auckland Friday. What a great advertisement for the yearling sales at Karaka Saturday. And if you look at the dates for the next three months you will see double ups nearly every week for 3 months at least. Surely - just surely - someone in command can see this cannot continue. It's no good pulling down the blinds and turning out the lights, that will just not work, I would sincerely hope one of the industry's leaders will make some sort of statement as to the state of the Industry - the shareholders surely deserve this.

  4. They have been rounding off horses preparation by starting at Pukekohe workouts and this seems to be a good move. Rogie was sighted at Cambridge meeting last Saturday. Oh, and dont say he is old - my hair just had a meeting to decide whether it is time to fall out! 🎺
  5. Too busy looking at whips?
  6. Wonder who else was at the party and didn't get tested and drove. One has to hope everyone was subject to a test but that would no doubt be an impossibility. So how did they "choose" who was tested? We will never know. Reminds me of a driver (true yarn) who went to a stipe before a race and said Sir, you will no doubt call me in after the race so why not do it now before it gets busy.
  7. Yes Karrots - a glorious day up here. Really great there no grass track meeting over the weekend. Many thanks to Trac for making their track(s) too expensive for the trotting club to make it worthwhile. No doubt, Trac are happy for their facilities to be idle and not making a bit of money to help in their expenses!
  8. She's had 2 drives this season. Not a huge amount of opportunities in the north.
  9. Was inevitable. And of course the "suits" said - look how well we doing and then sat back on their laurels with their G&T's
  10. Be "interesting" to know how much before their first respective drives that the tests were carried out.
  11. Yes Karrots - although Mark may still probably be here courtesy of Covid
  12. Phone bid??
  13. Phil still shoeing in Cambridge area. Very keen golfer.
  14. Scratched
  15. List suggestion A. Poutama
  16. Fields out - Argyl draws 1 - almost dead cert this will be DJB's drive. Wonder who drive the Dalgety team - will they bring up a driver or use the locals?
  17. Looking at Cambridge numbers nominated looks like they will try and run 10 races but to do this some will be skinny in numbers. Better they plump for 9 but I don't think they will. Support for amateurs race again very poor and race canned.
  18. I haven't seen the 2 latest weeks trials live and most of them just being educated. The only guide is likely to be in who is driving which horse. No doubt David Butcher will get the pick of the Lincoln Farms quartet and with regards to the southern ones whether a driver comes north rather than staying at Addington Friday. Auckland noms tomorrow - they seem to have switched from a Monday to a Tuesday when Cambridge racing in the same week.
  19. I presume he in same boat as Stephen Adams - i.e. is not representing New Zealand. Each sport has it's different quirks. e.g. Lydia Ko while not directly representing NZ is always shown in the fields as "L. Ko (NZ)"

    JCA

Are these people just to adjudicate impartially on cases brought against horsemen by ensuring the rules as written are followed or is it also their job to be experts on all things. I notice that in the JCA report against Ms Harrison recently that the panel told her to "address her technique".
  21. Sorry Noodlum - forgot about Maury (how could I?)
  22. P.T.Wolfenden. A.G.Herlihy, Daylight
  23. Karrots - no A.G.Herlihy??? Surely you are joking!!!
  24. Yes Karrots, answers a few questions
  25. Still plenty of punctures, mikeynz ♿
