  1. Let’s see if he measures up. Rocket Spade hasn’t exactly been a success.
  2. If he turned 4 on August 1 and was bred in the southern hemisphere he is eligible. if he was northern hemisphere bred he would be 3 and would therefore turn 4 on Jan 1. he is 4 so is eligible for the hk derby.
  3. Same as anywhere. 1August and 1January
  4. If he is a 4YO then yes he is
  5. Because they have completely rooted the country. Look at the crime, out of control and all the other absurd bs they have wasted money on. Absolute disgrace.
  6. Entain have put the money up
  7. Economic chickens coming home to roost thanks to the cock up that is the labour govt.
  8. Ahhh it’s actually next week!
  9. Supported by a leading trainer. Leading kiwi trainer Lisa Latta has had a fantastic season to-date, claiming ten stakes victories and amassing over $2.2 million in prizemoney for her connections. One win that stands out for Latta is Platinum Invador’s Gr.2 Auckland Cup (3200m), a horse that was given over 12 months to recover from an injury and nursed back to salute in one of New Zealand’s premier staying events. Awapuni, Latta’s local track, are in preperation for their first race meeting on the new synthetic surface this Sunday, 7 May. Latta has seen the benefits of the synthetic first-hand, currently working her entire stable on the newly implemented surface. “Having that even, consistent surface, all the time, Platinum Invador does a lot of his work on there, because he’s had a tendon injury and you have the same surface every day. I think the track will be a fantastic tool leading into winter and spring.” As we head into the winter months, we can expect trainers like Latta to utilise synthetic tracks, with plenty more race meetings and trials planned on this surface around the country.
  10. Talk going around that Mark Walker is moving to Victoria to set up a Te Akau operation and one of the young assistant’s will train the NZ arm of the operation. Heard it from a few different people now
  11. Injured a few months back…from memory was down south somewhere
  12. Injured a few months back…from memory was down south somewhere
  13. 10% win rate actually. J Size 12% PF Yiu 13% FC LOR/KW LUI 11%
  14. Another winner with a first starter 3yo who was sent out fav…only runner at the meeting. Flying as the commentators said again
  15. Go and listen to some of the interviews he’s done…he’s said it himself! HK is a completely different way of training, not galloped as much with the climate etc
  16. Of couse it does…but obviously wanted to see what others were doing and what not before rushing his horses…classic case and example, J Size. Doesn’t rush his horses at the beginning of the season
  17. A slow start by not having any runners for the first 5-6 weeks of the season. They do close the tracks during the off season for a period of time. im sure he doesn’t have to be hands on 24/7 when they have an assistant trainer and a system of rank in the stables. Only have to watch the social media of the hkjc on the videos they did of JRs stable
  18. https://asianracingreport.com/richards-stable-to-benefit-from-easter-buys/
  19. Picking most trainers there already have kids, jockeys too…obviously bringing up a family there is no issue!
  20. Well keep this bookmarked for 10-15years time to see who is right…training in hk is a license to print money and only the best get a chance to be there. he has had average second hand horses who he has got a win out of…hasn’t lined up many of his own horses as of yet. you may think you’re an expert on most things racing but hk racing is one i doubt you are an expert on.
  21. 10% and no overheads etc paying staff, feed, gear etc. jamie is going very well for a first season rookie trainer…the good judges of hk racing will tell you that. compare him to the other rookie PC NG who has had 135 more runners!
  22. Normally run at Te Aroha this meeting which is the “Thames Valley” but due to its renovation is out of action and has had a good crowd in the past at Te Aroha. They tell me the Te Aroha track is looking magnificent and those in the know say it could be one of the best surfaces in the Northern Region. this video was a few months back but looks super.
  23. 1 win 3 - 2nd 0 - 3rds 4 - 4ths 3 - 5ths he made the decision to give all the horses a good break and wasn’t able to train them properly until August. Been watching the little mini series the HKJC has been doing on Jamie…fascinating stuff. Completely different to what happens here in a racing stable. Go and check it out on youtube or facebook
  24. You’ve only got Avondale or Pukekohe to go to…give me the facilities at Puke over that dump in West Auckland
  25. Bill
