Good to see Mark getting some success over in Brisbane.,Is he looking at being 'based' over there for the season?..a shame to see him not riding here but he is getting good support over there by the looks of it. And also does anyone know if Jake Bayliss is coming back this way,or has he accepted Robert Heathcote's offer?.And lastly what is up with Jeff Lloyd?...thought he was retiring at the end of last season, but he's still going around?...Legend.

Who knows maybe it was by design that he was out there?...if at all possible the track looked 'better' the wider out you were. But yes you are right he is a nice horse and it wouldn't surprise me if Gay Robinson it starting to get some phone calls about him....i think he ran in the 1000 Guineas during cup week last year?.

Meeting 2-Rangiora. R1-4 Blue Coman. Did well for 4th on debut back in May after galloping out of the gate. Has had one workout in readiness for this. Manners will be an issue but can feature in this. R2-5 Doctor Tim. Been going great guns since his maiden win. Meets an even lot here and the driver change is a bit of a worry, but horse is in form. Can be there again. R3-6 Franco Texas. Having his first run in a while, but has been going well at trials. Has good gate speed,so could zip across and lead them.Has a habit of pulling, but if he relaxes he's a good chance. R4-1 Alexy. Been going well for his age in his last 2.Should get a cozy run from the draw and could zing them late. R5-2 Franco Nubolt. Beautifully bred 5yr old who is on debut today.Has had a couple of trials for this.Stand start manners should be ok.Will improve with the run but no surprise to see him win this. R6-8 Speedy Command. Has had a slight break after racing well thru the early part of Winter.Does have a good sprint and if saved for the last run she could zip past them late. R7-6 Mordecai. Great effort fresh up for 2nd two back, then was game when 4th last week.Strikes an even bunch and with luck he can go close here. R8-8 Stun Gun.Went well over the summer.Has since won at the trials.Nice type who should have benefitted from the break.Trainer driver combo always to be respected. Can end the day the right way. -
After reading that Dex was heading to the states not long after last week's meetings.I was surprised that his name was down for drives for today and tomorrow. Is he not heading away now?.
-
Yea there is no racing up here until the Kaikoura meeting in a few months time. And i think in the past he has sent horses to Palmy....and yes hopefully it was nothing to do with the idiot that started this thread.
-
I noticed in the noms for Sunday at Rangiora that a couple of Mark's horses are now with new trainers.Donegal Carnbouy is now with Leonne Jones and Shadowman is with Matt Purvis.Hopefully he isn't handing in his licence as the code needs every trainer it can get.
-
In the past Happy i don't normally tip as far down as Forbury. So along with the two McRae runners, throw in Kamwood Kid for the Orange/House combo, who's in R6.There's my 3 best win chances for Forbury.
-
I think both of Steven McRae's horses will be tough.Nanelle Franco in the 2nd and Ideal Draw in the 4th.Both been chasing nice types. They both can win their respective races.

Meeting 1-Addington R1-3 MYBOYLOLLIEPOP.Been going well in these types of races for a while.Strikes a nice draw so can get a piece of this. R2-9 GOLD CHAIN. First starter but she did beat the talented Show Gait at the recent trials.Always a queary with first starters but based on what shes done at the trials, she looks a good winning chance. R3-4 BEAU VISTA. Hit the line well when fresh last week.Should lob nice and handy from this draw and can feature in this. R4-2 FIRST CLASS LADY. Formerly with Barry Purdon,is now on the beach with Regan Todd.Went well enough up north and has since had a zip around at the trials. From the draw she looks tough to beat. R5-1 FRIEND. Nice type who ran a nice 4th when fresh up last month.Has won from the stand before and he should be thereabouts from here. R6-6 JERRY GARCIA. Is trotting really well at the moment.Doesn't mind roughing it and he looks a strong chance here. R7-6 CULLENBURN. Very impressive last week.Is a very nice type who looks like he'lll go alot further than this grade.Looks his for the taking. R8-4 THE BUCKEYE BULLET. Won very nicely on debut here last week. Will be improved further with that.Big chance of doubling up in this. R9-3 HEAVENLY LOVE. Upset them to win 2 back, then wasn't bad last time out here.Seems to do most things right.Could give the more fancied runners something to think about. R10-2 A BETTER DANCER. Been a model of consistency lately.Stand start manners look good. Can definitely win this. R11-2 CHANGE THE PRINT. First starter from the Court barn.Has been going nice at the trials.Stable will have him ready and he can win on debut. Well there we are, lets see how good or bad i go at season's end.

Grant Ross is far better than Chris Thornley?.Do you have some inside info on this character do you Brodie?.Only asking as i've never heard of him up until he started driving Clive.
-
Ok....the less said the better about today's efforts.Roll on the new season, where i put my head on the block on a weekly basis.
-
From the new season im going to post tips for meetings from Canterbury,West Coast,Oamaru and the Top of the South.Every tip will be done with an imaginary $1ew and after each meeting ill do updates, and then by seasons end we will see whether ive had my butt spanked or i've managed to end the season with a profit. Now i will try and do every meeting, but occasionally life may creep up on me and i may miss one or two.So we will see how i go and the first meeting that i'll be covering will be Addington on Friday.

R1-8 Fekitoa.Solid run for 2nd from new barn last week.Looks the one to beat with complete manners. R2-1 Big Smoke. Is now with Robbie Holmes, was outclassed the Waitaki series.Drawn the pole so could lead them up.Form is average but this field isnt strong. R3-7 Donegal Carrickfin. Has been going solid races for a while now.Likes the trip and doesn't mind roughing it.Can be in the mix here. R4-10 Raging Thunder. Is fresh up but has won a trial in readiness for today. He does look the biggest threat to the O'Reilly first starter. R5-2 Dusky Eyre. Was good last time out after having to lead the pack up to the leaders.Small field here and drawn handy should see him be in the finish here. R6-13 Brantley.Nicely bred first starter who has had a few trials for this.Trainers normally have them ready to run.Can be thereabouts in this. R7-1 Clover Lou. Solid effort last time out.Gets a nice draw here and on what shes shown so far she looks a good bet in this. R8-11 The Golden Boy. Good effort last time out for 2nd.Goes well over the trip and with luck he can power over the top of them'. R9-7 Miss Big.Nice mare who has gone well in her last 2 runs.Should go close to winning this.

I noticed in the stipes report for yesterday at Timaru, that Jason had to forego his rides due to weight issues.I personally hope that this is just a temporary glitch for him and not an old problem rearing its ugly head again and one that may see him lost to the game again. He's a talent in the saddle and i hope he can get back on track.

Sorry guys about not posting tips last night, time got away on me.I see Jungle Gem won but sadly i didnt have a cent on her.Mind you the only bet i had last night was on my 3yr old filly up in Auckland who ran a close 3rd.Will post some for Oamaru tomorrow.
-
Thanks guys...was nice to get a few winners.Look out at the next South Island harness meet.

R1-5 Sugarinspice.Did well for 4th on debut last time out, apart from a late break.Should be improved by that and this field is not strong, can go close. R2-4 Baker Creek.Has got home well for 4th in his last two runs.Gets a nice draw here and should land close to the speed. Can be in the mix in this. R3-1 Rosinupthebow.Been whacking away just behind them in her last couple.Does draw the pole for this and stand start manners seem ok.Should be thereabouts. R4-8 Hes Fast And Furious.Did work last week and wasn't far away.Cops a nasty draw over the sprint trip but he can do work and is a danger in this. R5-8 Samskara.Smashed them last time out in what was her first stand start.Does meet a few handy types in this, but on her last run she's a big chance in this. R6-5 Agatha Tyron.Got a well deserved win last time out.Strikes a nice draw here so should land on the speed. Can go back to back in this. R7-6 Collection.Has gone a couple of nice races since joining the Hope barn.Does meet a stronger field here but could be a good bet at nice odds.
-
Last night must have been the first time that Dex hasn't completed his engagements?.I guess it will be interesting to see if he gets a clearance to drive tonight in Brissy.
-
Yip well done Postie. .well deserved.
-
Well not the greatest of nights...2 wins and not much else. Will throw some up for Rangiora tomorrow.

R1-5 Joey Maguire.Ran a nice enough race last time out int he Juniors race. Was ok in this kind of race the start prior.Has raced better fields than this. Can win if hes on his A game. R2-3 Valley Star. Was good in his 2 runs at home last month.Looks to have some ability so can feature in this. R3-9 His Royal Harness.Sizzled home from the back to score nicely first up for the Mark Jones barn.Gets another tricky draw. But if he gets a similar run he'll be in the finish,. R4-6 Go Kiwi.Has done nothing wrong in his 3 runs to date.Looks an improving type and will relish being back to the mobile here. Will be hard to beat here. R5-2 Flyinova.Steps up in grade but was impressive when winning last Sunday. Will trot the journey so can be a player here. R6-2 Jungle Gem.Has produced 3 good placed runs at her last 3 goes..including a nice 3rd behind some handy types last week.Drawn handy and can go close to nailing her first win. R7-4 Chief Of Staff.Made good ground to place last week once he found some room.Is an honest enough sort who generally can step away. Can figure in this. R8-2 Running On Empty.Won well last week in a similar sort of race.Small field here and a nice draw so looks the toughest to beat here. R9-6 Desperateanddangerous.Nice win 2 weeks ago to clear the maiden class.Does jump up in grade and meet some handy types. But on what he's shown to date he's some sort of chance. R10-4 Red Moon Rising.Got savaged in front last time out and understandably faded out.Drawn nice here and over this trip he'll give them something to chase.

Most of the TAB's here are PubTABs...no stand alone TABs in Blenheim.
