From the new season im going to post tips for meetings from Canterbury,West Coast,Oamaru and the Top of the South.Every tip will be done with an imaginary $1ew and after each meeting ill do updates,and then by seasons end we will see whether ive had my butt spanked or i've managed to end the season with a profit.Now i will try and do every meeting,but occasionally life may creep up on me and i may miss one or two.So we will see how i go and the first meeting that i'll be covering will be Addington on Friday.

R1-8 Fekitoa.Solid run for 2nd from new barn last week.Looks the one to beat with complete manners. R2-1 Big Smoke. Is now with Robbie Holmes,was outclassed the Waitaki series.Drawn the pole so could lead them up.Form is average but this field isnt strong. R3-7 Donegal Carrickfin. Has been going solid races for a while now.Likes the trip and doesn't mind roughing it.Can be in the mix here. R4-10 Raging Thunder. Is fresh up but has won a trial in readiness for today.He does look the biggest threat to the O'Reilly first starter. R5-2 Dusky Eyre. Was good last time out after having to lead the pack up to the leaders.Small field here and drawn handy should see him be in the finish here. R6-13 Brantley.Nicely bred first starter who has had a few trials for this.Trainers normally have them ready to run.Can be thereabouts in this. R7-1 Clover Lou. Solid effort last time out.Gets a nice draw here and on what shes shown so far she looks a good bet in this. R8-11 The Golden Boy. Good effort last time out for 2nd.Goes well over the trip and with luck he can power over the top of them'. R9-7 Miss Big.Nice mare who has gone well in her last 2 runs.Should go close to winning this.

I noticed in the stipes report for yesterday at Timaru,that Jason had to forego his rides due to weight issues.I personally hope that this is just a temporary glitch for him and not an old problem rearing its ugly head again and one that may see him lost to the game again.He's a talent in the saddle and i hope he can get back on track.

Sorry guys about not posting tips last night,time got away on me.I see Jungle Gem won but sadly i didnt have a cent on her.Mind you the only bet i had last night was on my 3yr old filly up in Auckland who ran a close 3rd.Will post some for Oamaru tomorrow.

R1-5 Sugarinspice.Did well for 4th on debut last time out,apart from a late break.Should be improved by that and this field is not strong,can go close. R2-4 Baker Creek.Has got home well for 4th in his last two runs.Gets a nice draw here and should land close to the speed.Can be in the mix in this. R3-1 Rosinupthebow.Been whacking away just behind them in her last couple.Does draw the pole for this and stand start manners seem ok.Should be thereabouts. R4-8 Hes Fast And Furious.Did work last week and wasn't far away.Cops a nasty draw over the sprint trip but he can do work and is a danger in this. R5-8 Samskara.Smashed them last time out in what was her first stand start.Does meet a few handy types in this,but on her last run she's a big chance in this. R6-5 Agatha Tyron.Got a well deserved win last time out.Strikes a nice draw here so should land on the speed.Can go back to back in this. R7-6 Collection.Has gone a couple of nice races since joining the Hope barn.Does meet a stronger field here but could be a good bet at nice odds.

Last night must have been the first time that Dex hasn't completed his engagements?.I guess it will be interesting to see if he gets a clearance to drive tonight in Brissy.

Well not the greatest of nights...2 wins and not much else.Will throw some up for Rangiora tomorrow.

R1-5 Joey Maguire.Ran a nice enough race last time out int he Juniors race.Was ok in this kind of race the start prior.Has raced better fields than this.Can win if hes on his A game. R2-3 Valley Star.Was good in his 2 runs at home last month.Looks to have some ability so can feature in this. R3-9 His Royal Harness.Sizzled home from the back to score nicely first up for the Mark Jones barn.Gets another tricky draw.But if he gets a similar run he'll be in the finish,. R4-6 Go Kiwi.Has done nothing wrong in his 3 runs to date.Looks an improving type and will relish being back to the mobile here.Will be hard to beat here. R5-2 Flyinova.Steps up in grade but was impressive when winning last Sunday.Will trot the journey so can be a player here. R6-2 Jungle Gem.Has produced 3 good placed runs at her last 3 goes..including a nice 3rd behind some handy types last week.Drawn handy and can go close to nailing her first win. R7-4 Chief Of Staff.Made good ground to place last week once he found some room.Is an honest enough sort who generally can step away.Can figure in this. R8-2 Running On Empty.Won well last week in a similar sort of race.Small field here and a nice draw so looks the toughest to beat here. R9-6 Desperateanddangerous.Nice win 2 weeks ago to clear the maiden class.Does jump up in grade and meet some handy types.But on what he's shown to date he's some sort of chance. R10-4 Red Moon Rising.Got savaged in front last time out and understandably faded out.Drawn nice here and over this trip he'll give them something to chase.

Went into my local Countdown today after work to grab a copy of the paper.Saw it on the shelf...picked it up,and then i noticed something wasn't quite right...It had the date of June 28 and a picture of Max( the jumper) on the front page,obviously promoting the already run Hawkes Bay Chase.I saw no point in asking the staff..as a) they'd say that they dont know if their is a current issue or b) there would be no one around to ask anyway.So i put it back and away i went.Was wondering has that happened to anyone else today?..or is my local in Blenheim a little bit behind the times.

Thanks for the comments Happy.Up until quite a while ago on the other site,i posted tips for Canterbury/Coast and Oamaru from the start of this season,until i had a few things crop up and stopped doing it.I do love the harness and tend to follow the southern harness a tad more closely than the Northern scene.Was a tough day with my picks,think i managed to bag 2 winners.Will keep an eye out for the Canterbury fields next weekend and may post some more tips.

Yea Mad Lu Li didn't really seem to be travelling the whole way.She's better than that...maybe shes come to the end of her prep.

Haven't done this in a while,but will put my head on the chopping block. R1-5 Den's Legacy.Has been going ok in these types of races for a while.Didn't get all favours when 3rd at Timaru last week.With luck should be in the top 3. R2-13 Desperateanddangerous.Won 2 trials before running a nice 3rd on debut.Has since been back to the trials where he won again.First stand start in this,but trainer will have him drilled,can figure in this. R3-9 Mockingjay.Pulled far too hard when last produced last month and dropped out.Has since been back to the trials and ran 4th.Still learning the trade so is a bit risky,but he has shown glimpses of ability.Can get close if he settles. R4-1 Nirvana Beach.Having his first start but has been going well at the trials.Has drawn the pole for his debut and trainer will have him ready.Can win this on debut. R5-2 Wot Up.Gunned down late last week for 3rd.Meets a field that isnt that strong so he should be hard to beat here. R6-6 Balraj.Zipped home nicely for 4th on debut last week.Having his first stand start but should be well schooled.Can go well in this. R7-5 Hes Fast And Furious.Has been thereabouts for a while.Has placed here before and he has the Postman back on in this.Can feature in this. R8-7 Mad Lu Li.Didnt get much luck last week in a stronger race than this.Been going well for a while now and she can feature strongly in this. R9-4 Selena Franco.Won well last time out at Forbury.Drawn nice so could look to push forward.Looks a nice type who can go back to back here. Is Dex still heading to the States?.....been a few weeks since the Jewels....maybe it has fallen thru?.

Has anyone had any issues with watching the feed online?.Lately I've noticed that the coverage will freeze for a few seconds or so...never used to do that.It does it on my laptop and on my phone.So curious as to if anyone else has struck this.

I personally dont see a lot of standouts tomorrow.But i do like the chances of Hes Fast And Furious in the last.He's been going nice races around Canterbury,running 3rds and 4th.And his wins have come at Richmond Park,he's drawn nicely and the field does look rather even.I think he'll go well and he should be at a nice price.

Hope you have a good day Rees....i'll be at work,so will miss the first couple..but once home i'll be tuning in to the All Stars benefit.

Just seen on The Informant online page,that after the Jewels meeting Dex will be heading to the States to drive up until the end of the season...which hands the title to Blair,and also Blair's chance to drive at the World Drivers Champs.I dont think Dex would have caught Blair if he stayed in NZ,but not a bad decision to drive in the states,hes already had a taste for it and am sure he'll be well supported over there.

Has anyone ever won more than $5 on their current promotion?.I've been 'lucky' enough to win $5 a couple of times,but boy almost every other time i've been close to winning either $50,$100 or even $20.Would love to know if anyone has struck the bigger amounts.

I do like Patanjali in the 7th race.She is drawn on the outside of the arm over 2000m,but she faced a similar hurdle last week and got home well for 3rd.If luck is on her side she can definitely feature in 3 here.

R8-5 Black Ops.Was as green as grass last time out when running 2nd,but does have a heap of ability.Will probably start a warm fave again,but if his mind is on the job he can put distance on them. R3-7 Superfast Ninja.Got it all wrong last week,but does have ability.If she steps and trots the whole way then she'll go close.Also their is lots of talk around for the #9 Full Noise who was very impressive at the trials,only slight queary is a 2yr old having its first start in a standing start race,but the motor is there...if that at and the 7 trot the whole way.they are probably the best quinella of the day.
