R3-8 Beau Vista.2 good efforts lately.Can feature with a repeat performance. R4-16 Held To Ransom.First starter who has won at the trials.Can play a part in this. R5-11 Globe Trekker.Won 2 from 5 in his first prep last season.Been going extra at the trials.Nice type who can win if he behaves. R6-4 Henry Hubert.Smart sort coming back for another prep.Looks a big chance here. R7-11 Global Domination.Has been impressive in winning his only 2 runs.Goes up in class,but should cope. R8-4 Beyond The Horizon.Going his usual honest races.Draws better than some of his fancied rivals.Should be in the mix here. R9-13 Jack Jones.Has ability but did a few things wrong last season.Has been solid at the trials.Solid chance here. R103 Hicori.Good maiden win some months ago.Should have strengthened up and been going well at the trials.Looks a big player here.

Meeting 12-Oamaru R1-3 Eraser.Massive run for 3rd when on debut on Thursday.Has the breeding to be handy.If the backup doesn't hurt then she's a big win chance. R2-10 Mockingjay.Solid efforts to place in her last 2.If she continues to improve then she's a good chance again in this. R3-1 Itz Major Look.Money was on when on debut,but was a tad green.Should be improved with that and can go close here. R4-7 Just Wondering.Been going solid enough at the trials.Trainer doesn't bring them to the races unless they are ready.Handy field but can win on debut. R5-9 Mickey Jay.Been going well in his new role until his last start when he thought he was a pacer again.If he trots the journey then he's a solid chance. R6-8 Clasina Maria.Noted grass tracker who has gone well in her 2 runs on the grit this time in.Small field will suit her and with luck she can swoop late. R7-3 Doitson.Handy sort who is back for another campaign.Has had a zip around the workouts for this.Field looks even but he has the game to win this. R8-4 A G's White Socks.Just missed when fresh up 2 weeks back.Nice stayer who can go close to winning this. R9-12 Monty Python.Rowe cup placegetter who is fresh up here.Goes ok in that state and goes well on his home course.Will improve with the run but can be in the mix. R10-6 Motu Speedy Star.Too good for them last time out.This field is pretty even so he's a chance in this. R11-1 Burning Rubber.Has had an ok run at the workouts for this.Has drawn nicely here.And with any luck he can play a part in this.

R2-8 Tijuana Taxi.Blew apart last time from the stand.Does have a good record behind the mobile.Big danger if she stays down the whole way,. R3-1 Paravani.Solid effort for 3rd last time out from the same draw as this.Should get a similar run and will be in the mix again. R4-12 Chatty Man.Going well in all 3 runs to date.Drawn on the 2nd line but can do some work.Can get his first win here. R5-4 Midnight Memories.Solid run for 2nd last time out behind her stablemate.Generally does everything right,so is a chance. R6-4 Franco Texas.Not much room last time out when 4th.Has gate speed so could get across to lead then trail the fave.Can go close to winning here. R7-4 Huey Lewis.Tough effort to win on debut,then was tough when 4th last week.Handy type who can win this. R8-2 Amabede.Did some work last week,and got run down,prior efforts were solid.With a sit he can feature here. R9-1 Doctor Tim.Average runs in his last 2.Has since shifted barns and has drawn nice.Can be in the mix here.

Meeting 10-Methven R1-1 Gold Chain.Narrowly went down when on debut a few weeks back.Has since come here and won at the trials.The pole draw could be a slight concern,but if it doesn't bother her then she looks the winner in this. R2-6 Sounds Bettor.Racing well without winning one.Handles the grass and with her good manners she'll be handy.Can feature strongly in this. R3-6 Chatty Man.Was good when 2nd behind a smart sort last time out.Looks to be improving with each run.Can go close here. R4-8 Flyingmasterwilliams. Been going ok this time in.Handy 3rd last time out,then was placed in a trial here last week.Can grab a piece of this. R5-5 Amabede.Has gone well since moving south.Was a good 3rd in a much stronger field last time out.Good chance to take this out. R6-12 Playboy Prince. Whacking away ok this time in.Does seem to go ok on the grass.Field not strong so can be thereabouts. R7-17 The Croupier.Nice win last time out in only his 2nd run.First stand start here but will no doubt be well schooled.Looks a handy type and can be in the mix here. R8-10 Bailey's Knight.Big effort for 3rd in a stronger race last time out.With luck he looks one of the hardest to beat in this. R9-7 Rachmaninov. Solid effort for 4th last week.He loves the grass and he can go close to winning this. R10-2 Selena Franco.Got held up last time out,then only battled once out.Has won twice on the grass.Can fill a spot in this with luck.

I was so pleased to see Marcoola salute last night.There is no doubting his ability and yes he had a horror season last season.He was pretty game last night,considering the run he had.If that was the same horse as last season he would of been gone at the 400m.I know its only one race,so not getting carried away,but i hope that he keeps on improving and he can be a force in the Open Class ranks this season.And i bet the Ford's also breathed a sigh of relief last night as well.

Meeting 9-Addington R1-7 Celtic Thunder. Solid enough run last week.Drops a little in class here and looks a solid chance here. R2-4 Johnny White. Found the lead mid race last week and was run down.Handy draw here so shouldn't have to work as much to lead.Can win this. R3-1 Mongolian Machete. Gunned down on debut for 2nd behind a handy sort last month.Drawn nice here and should be hard to hold. R4-8 Marcoola. Probably the enigma of the field,who had a horror campaign last season.Has won a trial for this,will improve with this run but on his best day he can win. R5-5 Franco Texas. Showed zip to lead out and then got the trial and ended not far behind the winner.Looks to be getting fitter and should be thereabouts in this. R6-4 Huey Lewis. Tough effort on debut to score . Meets a small field here and on natural improvement he can go close to winning again. R7-1 A G's White Socks. Did some good things last season.Has had a trial where he won pretty well.Does go well fresh and can give the Purdon runner something to think about. R8-3 Christian Lady. Gunned down late by a handy sort last week.Can find the lead from here and lead them along.Can win this with luck. R9-10 Le Lievre's Gift. Raced well last season.Is fresh up but does ok that way.Has had 2 trials for this.Can be in this for a long way. R10-10 Scotlynn Justis.Has been ok this time in.Draw is a little tricky.But with luck he can zip over them late.

Yip me too.Remember going there some 30 odd years ago when i was a wee fella and seeing them in the distance charging up the long home straight.Should get rid of the houses and bring the long straight back.

Yip i remember going to the TAB in New Brighton mall when i was around 12 years old,all by myself.Going there to get the scratchings for the old man who was crook.No one really questioned me as to why i was there,putting the scratchings into the Turf Digest...ah good memories.

R2-2 Midnight Memories.Solid enough effort last time out.Has placed here before.Field not strong and should be in this for a long way. R3-7 Beau Vista.Been mixing his form abit lately.Was beaten by a handy sort at trials recently.Can figure in this. R4-3 Majestic Mannequin.Good 3rd on debut.Gait looks to be a work in progress,but the ability is there.Good chance again . R5-10 Mockingjay.Good fresh up run a few weeks back.If she can follow the right horse into it,then she's a good chance again. R6-2 Motu Great Sensation.Solid run when up in grade last time out.Drops back in grade for this.Looks a handy chance at nice odds. R7-3 Itz Major Look.Been going well at trials.Can grab this on debut. R8-5 Christian Lady. Stung late by a handy sort last week.A repeat of that can see her go close to winning this.

R3-8 Immortal Change.Got home well to place last week.Strikes an even lot here but can definitely take this out. R4-6 Medusa.Is going really well at the moment,and just got done late by race rival last week.Going well enough to turn the tables in this. R5-1 Kingslayer.Going well in his last 2.Got the draw here to lob handy.Will be tough to beat with luck. R6-6 Monkey's Way.Hasn't raced since winning back in May,but by all reports trainer is happy with him.Has a good fresh record and he'll be hard to beat in this. R7-5 Franco Riot.Going well at the moment,and just went down to a nice type when having his first run in this grade.Will be hard to beat in this. R8-2 Paravani.Good effort to place behind a couple of nice types last wee.Has the draw to be handy and can feature in this.

Now that Jake Bayliss is back in the country and riding race day from tomorrow.I wonder how long it will take for the bookies to put him into the market?.As i remember reading that if he did ever come back,he'd be after a premiership win,as he believes it will open doors for him.I guess at the moment you could ring them up and they'd give you a price...no idea what they'd give ya tho?.
